Chapter 192
That dream was ridiculous.
Zeph smiled at Nicole, and the next second, he lunged forward with a knife, yelling, “Give me your storage space!”
Nicole snapped awake, breathing hard. Cola pushed his head close, letting out a soft whine as if he was checking on her.
She immediately checked her storage space with her mind, trying to calm herself down. Everything was still there. The storage space, his weapon, even the two bunches of red grapes.
Nicole took a melatonin pill, and this time, the dreams didn’t come back.
When she woke again, it was already midday. The hallway outside was full of activity. Beatrice was practicing her punches, Jeremy was working on his archery, and Hughie was pedaling hard on a bike to generate electricity.
They had already agreed that power generation would be handled by Hughie’s group.
Whether it was dealing with the people collecting protection rations or going out to search for supplies, Nicole and Zeph had been doing more. So Hughie’s group took on more of the daily responsibilities.
Since they insisted, Nicole didn’t object. A team that wanted to last couldn’t have the strong always carrying the weak.
And just because she didn’t mind didn’t mean others didn’t think about it.
Hughie’s group understood that clearly, which would make things smoother with others in the future.
After training, it was time to cook.
It had been a while since the 18th floor had eaten together, and everyone was craving a proper meal. Cooking in the deep freeze was difficult. In -40 degree weather, food would freeze solid almost as soon as it left the pot.
Nicole suggested, “Let’s make camp stew. I still have seasonings for it.”
Everyone agreed. Zeph brought ribs, while Hughie’s group contributed lean meat, noodles, and preserved vegetables.
Worried it might not be enough, Nicole added, “We still have that reservoir fish. I’ll bring out a big one.”
If they were doing it, they might as well do it right.
Jeremy looked surprised. “You still have fish?”
“Yeah. I got tired of eating it back then. The rest has been sitting in the car fridge.”
“Alright, let’s do it.”

Nicole went back to her place and picked out a grass carp, about seven pounds, from her storage space. She cleaned it, sliced it, and marinated it. The fish guts were too much trouble, so she tossed them to
Cola.
Out of nowhere, Ash dashed over and tried to snatch them away.
Nicole paused.
A rabbit eating fish scraps? And where did Ash get the nerve to challenge Cola?
What surprised her even more was that Snowy ran over as well, helping Ash go after the dog.
The rabbits were rebelling.
Cola lost his patience immediately. He pinned both of them down and gave them a harsh lesson, as if he were saying, “Are you two trying to get yourselves killed? You’ve got some nerve pulling this right in front of me. Start talking!”
The two rabbits were quickly subdued. Realizing the situation, they backed down right away.
Nicole waved them off and picked up Cola to check his paws. There were bite marks.
Her expression tightened. “Cola, if they try that again, don’t hold back.”
