The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 195

Chapter 195

Nicole had already seen how this would end in her last life, but this time, it didn’t feel the same. She still wanted to go see it for herself.

The 18th floor hadn’t gone out in a while. The moment they heard about the public trial, everyone got interested and wanted to go.

That left one issue: someone had to stay behind and watch the place.

Gabrielle smiled. “You all go. We’ll stay and keep an eye on things.”

Derek and Victor happened to have a couple of days off. They were usually busy, so staying home didn’t

bother them.

Besides, the trial would include executions on the spot. The Goodmans weren’t the type to handle something like that.

The group from the 18th floor exchanged looks. The Goodmans might not be strong, but with three electric gates set up, it wouldn’t be easy for anyone to break in.

Plus, the situation outside had changed.

Westbridge didn’t have a permanent military force. The troops that took down the Drakebane Guild had come in from Grayport. While they were there investigating, they hadn’t slowed down. Several other criminal groups had been wiped out, and things outside had clearly improved.

On top of that, the 18th floor already had a reputation inside Crownview Residences. Even if they left the doors open, no one would dare walk in.

As for the gangs outside, anyone with common sense would stay quiet during a crackdown like this. For now, things were relatively safe.

In the end, they all agreed. Tomorrow, they would go.

They weren’t the only ones looking forward to it. Other survivors felt the same. Seeing the authorities take action gave people a small sense of hope in the middle of everything.

It was enough to make them want to keep going and survive until things finally ended.

The trial was set for 10 a.m. The 18th floor got up at 7 a.m., got ready, ate breakfast, and prepared to head out.

Cola immediately picked up on it. As soon as he realized they were leaving, he stuck close to Nicole and followed her everywhere, even to the bathroom.

There would be a huge crowd, and Nicole couldn’t help worrying. What if someone grabbed him in the chaos?

Jeremy shrugged it off. “Cola’s one of us. We don’t treat him any differently. Besides, we’ve got enough

standing now to take him out.”

Seeing Zeph getting Poppy ready, Nicole gave in. “Alright. Cola, go get your leash.”

Again?

Cola felt wronged, but he still ran off and came back with the leash in his mouth.

Once it was on, he didn’t even wait for Nicole. He held it himself, tail wagging.

This was the first time the entire 18th floor was heading out together.

Before leaving, Nicole checked in with the Goodmans and handed Victor the replica gun Beatrice had returned. If anyone tried anything, it would be enough to scare them off.

Westbridge had suffered under these groups for a long time, especially the surrounding neighborhoods. Now that the Drakebane Guild and several others were being publicly judged, people poured out into the streets. As long as they could handle the cold, they were heading to Liberty Square to see it for

themselves.

At the same time, people were anxious about something else: would any of the supplies that had been taken from them be returned?
