The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 243

Chapter 243

Nicole’s gaze landed on several objects stacked in the corner.

“What are those?”

Zeph looked at where she pointed. “Parts stripped from the truck. Engine, compressor, and some spare

components.”

Nicole looked surprised. “Your vehicle’s still intact?”

Zeph nodded. “It’s still in the parking garage.”

He had simply dismantled every fragile or easily damaged component ahead of time.

The moment she thought about his armored truck, Nicole practically started drooling.

If her storage space hadn’t been maxed out back then, she definitely would’ve hoarded a few vehicles

herself.

“It’s almost -94 degrees now. Won’t the truck freeze solid sitting in the garage?”

“I treated it beforehand. Hopefully, it survived.”

Nicole stored the vehicle parts inside her storage space, letting them return gradually to normal temperature on the balcony before moving them indoors.

As for the rice, flour, cooking oil, seasonings, snacks, and other food supplies, she only stored about two-

thirds of them.

She couldn’t guarantee she would never run into danger herself someday. Putting all the eggs in one basket was too risky.

She handled the medicines the same way. The rarely used drugs all went into storage, while roughly a third of the everyday supplies stayed behind.

Then Nicole discovered that not only had Zeph stockpiled massive amounts of gasoline, but he even had solar generators and battery storage units capable of holding 50 kilowatt-hours of electricity.

No wonder he had been able to keep the electric fishing equipment charged.

They all went into storage.

Watching his human casually perform miracles again, Cola immediately shot Zeph an unbearably smug sideways grin.

Hah. Everything belonged to his human now.

Zeph actually laughed at the expression. “So… Can you stop treating me like an enemy now?”

Cola immediately turned his head away.

Absolutely not!

The supplies covered every category imaginable, but when Nicole spotted several acid-resistant protective suits, she froze slightly.

“There’s acid rain, too?”

“There is.”

Not just acid rain; there would also be toxic fog, endless daylight, endless night, ancient viruses released from melting glaciers, tectonic collisions, and worse.

Nicole’s chest tightened. She hadn’t expected each stage of the apocalypse to become harder than the last. Suddenly, it felt like her preparations were nowhere near enough.

“It’s okay,” Zeph reassured her calmly. “We’ll figure out ways to gather what we need.”

He had awakened later than she had, and retiring from service had taken time.

Most of the supplies in his apartment had been purchased online beforehand. He had risked his life

gathering more during the typhoon, but nobody could predict how long the disasters would continue.

Even this still wasn’t enough.

Nicole counted the gas canisters and suddenly narrowed her eyes. “The ones that disappeared from those shops near the entrance of the complex… That was you, wasn’t it?”

Zeph smiled. “You’re pretty sharp.”

There were simply too many supplies. The second-floor rooms inside Nicole’s storage space were already nearly packed to capacity.

The more she looked, the more she felt she would eventually need to find a way to expand it somehow.

There were still far too many missing necessities.

Soon, the second wave of potatoes reached harvest season.

This time, all four of them worked without slacking off.

Cola enthusiastically pawed through dirt, biting potatoes out one by one and dropping them into baskets.

By the end, they harvested over 1,000 pounds.

Everyone’s backs and waists ached from exhaustion, but the yield was enough to feed them for a very long time.

At the same time, the corn, peanuts, and wheat inside Nicole’s storage space all ripened one after another and needed harvesting immediately.

Nicole preferred fresh corn, so she simply picked and stored it directly away.

The peanuts and wheat were more troublesome since they needed threshing, so to save time, she had

no choice but to take them outside.

The freezing weather turned everything rock solid almost instantly.

She hadn’t planted much, only around 1,000 square feet for each crop. Even so, she spent a full day on the entire process.

By the end, the strain from overusing her mental energy left her collapsed beneath the blankets, unwilling to move at all.
