The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 340

Chapter 340

Zeph had saved plenty of people back then, and it hadn’t ended well for him.

Nicole handed the medicine to Zeph. “Give him some water and get the pills down. I’ll bring Poppy and Cola over.”

Zeph took the medicine and drew in a breath. “Thank you.”

Nicole gave him a light pat. “You’re the one who stocked this. Don’t thank me.”

By the time she carried Poppy back, Zeph had already gotten the soldier to take the medicine and was cleaning his

wounds.

Nicole took two beds and a lamp out of her storage space. Together, they lifted him onto one of the beds.

Seeing the deep cut on his thigh, Nicole gave him an anesthetic, then took out her tools and cleaned and stitched the wound.

The injury looked like it had been made by something sharp.

Nicole took out a tetanus shot. Just like that, a yacht was gone. 1

After finishing, she gave him something to bring down the fever.

At some point, Poppy woke up. She sat on the bed, still groggy, rubbing her eyes. “Zeph… Nicole.”

Zeph brushed a hand over her hair. “It’s okay now.”

Poppy hugged him, uneasy. “Why am I here?”

“The tsunami hit. You hit the railing and passed out, but the water’s already gone down.”

Poppy still looked dazed, her thoughts slow to catch up.

Zeph handed her a warm meal. “Are you hungry? Eat something.”

Poppy nodded and ate quietly, then sipped some watermelon juice.

She noticed the unfamiliar man on the other bed but didn’t ask. She just kept eating, and she even slipped Cola a piece of rib when no one was looking.

After a tsunami like that, there would be countless casualties. In this heat, disease could spread fast.

They had already gotten what they came for. There was no reason to stay by the coast. No one knew when the next wave might come.

Nicole had never heard about this tsunami in her last life. Zeph probably hadn’t either, or he wouldn’t have brought them here.

Westbridge was less than 50 miles away, yet the difference was huge. If they hadn’t been prepared, they might have died here.

“Should we head back to Westbridge?” Nicole asked.

Zeph didn’t object. “It’s dark, and we don’t know what’s happening down the mountain. Let’s wait until morning.”

Worried that survivors might come up in the night, Nicole suggested they keep watch in shifts.

Cola took the lead, with Zeph backing him up, while Nicole slept with Poppy. She ended up sleeping straight

through until morning.

After making a round with Cola, Zeph came back. “The water’s dropped below the road. A few survivors are moving out.”

The soldier was still unconscious, but his fever had gone down. To prevent infection, they kept him on antibiotics.

After feeding the two little ones, Nicole stepped outside and stood at the top of the hill.

The wind and waves were still violent, roaring nonstop. One tsunami had swallowed people, the pier, the harbor wiping out what little remained of industry.

Yesterday, this place had been alive.

Today, there was nothing left.

Nicole felt the weight of it, but there was nothing she could do. All she could do was watch the disasters grow worse and more unpredictable.

The coastal road was clear now, so she and Zeph decided to head back to Westbridge before anything else happened.

With no one around, Nicole tried to take out the battered miracle car. 1

Nothing appeared.

She tried again.

Still nothing.

Her breath got stuck in her throat.

What was going on?

Seeing her expression change, Zeph asked, “What’s wrong?”
