Chapter 364
The whole roasted lamb had been done just right, the heat perfect. Nicole didn’t hold back and dug in.
She only had one sheep left in her storage space, and that wouldn’t last long. When there was good food, you ate your fill.
As she ate, she said casually to Felix, “Fresh meat like this isn’t easy to come by these days. Especially lamb.”
“Yeah, it’s not easy out there,” Felix said, “but in Ironvale Base, if you’ve got the ability, you eat well.”
Anthony jumped in right away. “Exactly. Stick with Felix, and you won’t just have lamb. Beef’s no problem, either.
Nicole chewed slowly. “This tastes like northern-style lamb. You don’t get this kind of flavor from coastal stock”
“Good eye,” Anthony said with a grin. “Came in from the northwest.”
Nicole raised a brow. “The south went through extreme cold before this heat. The northwest should’ve been worse. Hard to believe livestock made it through.”
Anthony seemed pleased with himself. “There’s a lot you don’t know. While we’re dealing with heat here, the northwest is still frozen over. That’s how the cattle and sheep made it here.” 1
Nicole widened her eyes just a little. “Not everyone gets to eat fresh roasted lamb in this kind of heat. Thanks for the hospitality, Felix.”
She raised her glass and toasted him and Anthony. She had just set it down when noise broke out outside.
John came back with his men, all covered in blood. Some had been shot and needed urgent treatment. They had gone out with dozens and lost half, with many more wounded.
“Boss, those Drakehold bastards ambushed us on the road! Good thing we didn’t back down. Took a few of them
with us.”
John was furious, almost throwing his gun to the ground. “They’ve gone too far! First, they wreck our checkpoint, and now, they turn around and say we started it. It’s just an excuse!”
The base only had 200 people. One trip like this was a heavy loss.
Medicine was more valuable than gold. A lot of the wounded wouldn’t make it.
Recruiting fighters had been easy before, with resources flowing through the toll points. Now, Drakehold Base was not only competing for supplies, but also pulling people away.
At this rate, Ironvale would be drained dry.
Felix’s temper snapped. The calm, refined mask dropped as he smashed his glass again.
“Damn it! Do they think I’m weak?”
He looked ready to flip the table.
Meanwhile, the four of them stayed composed. Cola kept working on his lamb leg like nothing was happening.
Watching them eat so calmly made Felix want to shoot them on the spot.
But he forced himself to hold back.

He waved John and the others away, ordering the wounded to be treated.
Once he steadied himself, he sat back down with a smile.
“Zeph, you heard everything. Drakehold destroyed our checkpoint and injured dozens of our people. What do you think we should do?”
Zeph’s voice stayed even. “Do you want the truth, or something polite?”
Felix paused. “The truth, of course.”
“Wipe them out.”
It was obvious enough, but Felix still hesitated. “You don’t understand. Drakehold has backing.”
Zeph didn’t soften it. “If they really had backing, they would’ve taken Ironvale before you had time to react. They wouldn’t be dragging this out. It’s just smoke and mirrors.”
