The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 372

Chapter 372

For all his temper, Cola kept it under control and didn’t react, letting the man finish peeing.

When the tattooed lookout was done, he gave himself a satisfied shake and walked off.

Cola stayed low and waited until the lookout’s attention shifted, then slipped under the truck and crawled forward. He placed the charge against the inner side of the fuel tank exactly as he had been ordered.

Perfect.

He didn’t pull back right away. He checked it over several times until he was sure, then turned to leave.

Even with the job done, Cola stayed cautious, slipping into the grass and finding a shallow dirt hollow farther away to hide.

Watching through his scope, Zeph followed every move and couldn’t help thinking Cola was the best dog in the world.

After a tense exchange, Drakehold Base finally gave way. The door of one SUV opened as a tall man stepped out.

From her angle, Nicole could only make out the helmet and body armor, not enough to confirm if he was the leader of Drakehold Base.

But judging from John’s reaction, he almost certainly was.

At the same time, the SUV from Ironvale Base opened as well. Someone in body armor stepped out, a fedora pulled low.

Nicole’s eyes narrowed, and she cursed Felix under her breath for being a coward.

He hadn’t shown up himself. He had sent Anthony in his place.

Felix was taller than Anthony. The difference was easy to spot.

As expected, even with Anthony keeping his head down, the other side sensed something off and immediately raised a weapon.

Before things could escalate, Zeph, already lined up, pulled the trigger.

A helmet might stop a handgun round or fragments, but it meant nothing against a sniper rifle, especially in Zeph’s hands.

He fired once, then adjusted without hesitation and fired again.

A split second later, a deafening explosion ripped through the air. The charge ignited the fuel, blowing the truck apart and rupturing the tank.

One shot set off three explosions.

Gasoline sprayed outward like a shower of sparks, igniting into roaring flames that flipped the nearby SUV.

In the blaze, the man in the helmet disappeared.

The thugs from Drakehold Base had been gathered near the truck.

When the explosion hit, they were either thrown clear or drenched in burning fuel, quickly swallowed by the fire. The few who somehow escaped the blast were cut down by gunfire from the other side, panic spreading as

screams echoed through the valley.

Ironvale Base was over 50 yards away. The moment the opposing leader went down, they pulled back in unison.

A few arcs of burning fuel flew their way, but it barely mattered. Anthony seized the opening to organize a counterattack.

“Move! Take them out and push their base!”

This wasn’t a fight anymore. It was a rout, especially when the second SUV at Drakehold Base detonated in the flames, causing even heavier losses.

Anthony ordered that no one be left alive. The one-sided slaughter ended quickly, and he immediately led his men toward Drakehold Base.

Anthony wasn’t happy with how Felix had set this up. Felix took the credit while he took the risk, but there wasn’t much he could do.

At least Zeph had come through. It was a clean win.

Once the main force moved out, the valley was left with nothing but raging fire and a stench that clung to the air.

A rustle came from the grass as Cola pushed his way out and ran toward Nicole, visibly excited.

Nicole covered her nose and stepped back. “What is that smell?”
