The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 371

Chapter 371

With Poppy still at Ironvale Base, Nicole had no real choice but to agree.

Zeph secured the two packs, then rubbed Cola’s head. “Don’t push your luck. If you’re spotted, pull out right away.

Cola held their gaze, steady and unflinching.

Nicole’s eyes burned as she stroked his head, unwilling to let go. “Listen to me. No matter what happens, you come first.”

She didn’t want Cola to be stupid and get himself killed, like he did in her past life. It wasn’t worth it.

Right then, vehicles from Drakehold Base rolled in and stopped one by one about 50 yards away. Armed thugs jumped down from the trucks first, spreading out beside them with a hard, aggressive presence.

Both sides cared about saving face, so neither rushed to get out first.

The Drakehold vehicles were parked at an angle. It looked messy at a glance, but anyone experienced could read the setup.

The two trucks formed a V, boxing the SUV in the middle. Parked like that, they could use the vehicles as cover if things went south and still get back in fast. The trucks could turn around quickly without getting boxed in.

More importantly, the setup worked in Zeph’s favor. The fuel tanks on those trucks were fully exposed.

There were armed lookouts behind them, but only four.

Zeph mapped out the route for Cola, sending him around from the side to plant the charge under the first truck’s fuel tank.

To avoid detection, he adjusted the placement based on the shooting angles and signaled Cola to push the charge farther in.

Nicole, who didn’t understand any of it, stayed silent.

After two years of training, Cola had become highly intelligent and understood his handler instantly.

Wearing a ballistic vest, he picked up the charge and moved out without looking back. Nicole didn’t catch the brief flicker of fear in his eyes, only the determination that followed.

Cola didn’t want the humans to be blown up again, so he would make sure they were the ones to go first.

It was only about 500 yards, but to Nicole, it felt endless. With binoculars in hand, she followed Cola’s every move without blinking.

Zeph’s execution was flawless. Cola moved in without making a sound, closing in on the negotiation site.

Maybe both sides were giving their snipers time to settle in, because neither group got out to exchange greetings.

After more than ten minutes of waiting, Drakehold Base finally made the first move, sending someone toward Ironvale Base’s vehicle.

Nicole couldn’t hear the conversation, but John looked irritated, like he was calling them out for being late and playing games. If they wanted to save face, the other side should have stepped out first and apologized.

Cola kept moving, stepping lightly when he could and flattening himself to crawl when the hillside offered no

With over ten pounds of explosives in his mouth, a heavy vest on his back, and 140-degree heat beating down on him, it was pure torture for a dog that could only cool off by panting.

At one point, he must have made a slight noise, because one of the tattooed lookouts snapped to attention.

They scanned the area and even pulled out binoculars.

Cola pressed himself flat against the ground, barely daring to breathe. Only when they relaxed did he start moving again. 1

He circled the perimeter and finally reached the base of the hill, just a dozen feet from the truck

At that moment, one of the tattooed lookouts suddenly had to piss and jogged over to the bushes.
