Chapter 378
Seeing Nicole start to sway, Felix felt a surge of satisfaction and smiled.
“You don’t drink much, do you? It’s a cocktail. Seven or eight kinds of liquor mixed together. If you’re not used to it, it hits fast.”
The other leaders chimed in, while only Anthony’s eyes flashed with urgency.
Idiots! He had warned them there was danger, and they still walked right into it.
Then, a wave of dizziness hit him.
At the same time, Poppy and Cola drifted farther out as they played, slipping unnoticed out of the yard and stopping in front of the rumbling diesel generator.
Cola lifted his leg without hesitation and let go.
He had been holding it all day. Finally, relief.
“What are you two doing here?”
A tattooed guard’s voice came from behind.
Poppy turned and gave him a sweet smile. “Sir, I drank too much water. I need the bathroom.”
It was dark outside the yard, and from that distance, the guard hadn’t seen what Cola had done.
Poppy ran up to him. “Can you tell me where it is?”
He had drawn the short straw on guard duty and hadn’t gotten any food or drinks. Seeing how cute she was, his expression softened. “You need the bathroom? I’ll take you.”
He reached out to grab her hand.
Then, he dropped straight to the ground.
At some point, a pistol was already in Poppy’s hand. Two years of training had turned the motion into instinct. She fired once, hitting him square between the eyes. With a suppressor on it, there was no sound. 1
At the same time, the generator, now thoroughly doused by Cola, exploded with a loud blast, plunging the entire yard into darkness.
The instant the lights went out, Poppy was already at the gate, firing two shots at the guards watching over the weapons.
Her movements were fast, and they had no guard up against her. Both men went down.
She took the keys from them and pulled Cola behind the weapons cabinet to hide.
The sudden blackout threw everything into chaos. Felix froze for a split second, then reacted, drawing his gun and firing toward Zeph and Nicole’s table.
But Nicole had already dropped under the table the moment the lights went out, slipping on night vision goggles.
After Felix emptied his magazine, she shifted positions and fired several shots at the leaders.
She didn’t aim for their hearts. That would have been too easy.

Gunfire broke out, and chaos followed. The drinks and the beef had been laced with a strong sedative. The tattooed men had been stuffing themselves, and the effects hit fast as they grew dizzy and collapsed.
Those who had eaten less staggered around blindly, not yet fully under.
Nicole ignored them and moved quickly with Zeph out of the yard, regrouping with Poppy and Cola behind the weapons cabinet.
It helped that Felix was so paranoid he had collected all the weapons beforehand. Otherwise, this wouldn’t have gone so smoothly.
Using the darkness, Nicole pulled the entire weapons cabinet into the storage space. That should make things a lot harder for them.
They stayed alert, each taking cover, waiting for the outer guards to rush in.
With the celebration tonight, the number of sentries had been cut in half. There were only 12 in total.
As expected, footsteps soon approached.
With night vision, Zeph’s aim stayed steady even in the dark. Each shot dropped another target.
Three groups came in separately, and none of them made it out.
They didn’t return to the yard right away, waiting more than ten minutes for the sedative to fully take effect.
Cola stood with his ears perked, watching and listening in every direction before finally confirming it was clear.
The four of them put on their vests, weapons in hand, and walked back into the yard.
The place was a mess. Tables lay overturned, food and drinks littered the floor, and unconscious bodies were scattered everywhere.
Nicole pulled out several bundles of nylon ties. The two of them split up. The women were bound at the hands and moved into a nearby building.
For the pregnant ones, she was more careful, making sure they weren’t jostled.
The men were tied hand and foot, lined up in rows facing each other like laundry hung out to dry.
As for Felix and the other leaders, they were already bleeding from their wounds but had still succumbed to the sedative.
They were bound even tighter, secured with thick rope.
Once everything was under control, Nicole took out a backpack sprayer from the storage space and began spraying the men.
She couldn’t get her hands on a flamethrower, so she had asked Weasel for the next best thing. The tank was filled with a mix of gasoline and diesel they had siphoned earlier. 1
When it came to Felix and his group, she made sure to soak them thoroughly, the sharp smell spreading across the yard.
Nicole stepped on Felix’s wound and pressed down hard.
He jerked awake, screaming.
She dragged a chair over and sat in front of him, smiling. “Hey, you doing okay?”

His head throbbed, his thoughts scattered. When he saw her smile and realized he was tied up and soaked in fuel, his whole body went cold. “N-Nicole, what are you doing?”
Nicole didn’t answer. She pulled out a charge from her bag and shoved it against him.
