“By the way, some people from the city government approached Captain Landon about working for them. He’ll earn trade credits every month that he can use to buy supplies.

“He turned them down at first, but they came back several times, so he finally agreed. From what I’ve heard, they gave him a fairly high-ranking position.”

After wave after wave of natural disasters, government agencies had lost much of their staff. Alex was highly capable and had spent years dealing with senior officials, so it was no surprise that they had taken notice of him.
