The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 507

Chapter 507

Nicole looked over with a cold gaze. The two things had nothing to do with each other, but when she remembered the three armored supercars in her storage space, along with the seven-figure pink diamond it had absorbed, she felt a brief twinge of guilt under Marcus’s gaze.

She concealed it so well that it vanished almost immediately.

“Really?” Marcus asked with a faint smile, his hands in his pockets. “She’s that arrogant?”

Camila’s friend nodded eagerly. “Yes. We all saw it.”

More people rushed to back Camila up.

“That’s right! She provoked the alpaca on purpose, then ordered her dog to attack it. She obviously came here looking for a fight.”

One accusation followed another, and the crowd grew more hostile by the second.

As far as they were concerned, Nicole was a penniless nobody who had already beaten up several security guards and now seemed to think she could do whatever she wanted in the neighborhood.

Did she really expect all of them to stand there and let her walk all over them?

Even if they were willing to let the matter go, they were certain the Robinsons would never tolerate such blatant disrespect in their own neighborhood.

Marcus studied Nicole with an amused smile.

Nicole waited for him to make his move, but instead, he turned to Camila and the others.

“Except I saw your alpaca spit on her first.”

Everyone’s expression changed.

None of them had expected Marcus, a spoiled rich kid who had always relied on his family’s influence to get his way, to side with an outsider.

They were supposed to be on the same side, yet he was defending some broke nobody.

Marcus looked at Camila.

“You knew your alpaca had a habit of spitting at people, so you should’ve kept a better eye on it. If you can’t control your pet, you don’t get to complain when someone defends herself.”

Camila’s face burned with humiliation. She wished the ground would open up and swallow her.

She had never expected Marcus to come back from the base acting like a completely different person.

Nicole was just as surprised. She had once worked a summer job at his custom car club. Back then, he had been nothing more than an arrogant rich kid. Seeing him act like this now completely caught her off guard.

Then again, maybe he was only doing it for his own amusement. He had always been unpredictable.

Camila had never been humiliated like this in her life. It felt as though her pride had been trampled in front of

everyone.

Tears filled her eyes. She covered her face and ran home, abandoning even her injured alpaca.

The other wealthy guests immediately changed their tune.

“Marcus is right. Camila should’ve kept it under control. We misunderstood what happened. Sorry.”

The apology wasn’t meant for Nicole. It was meant for Marcus.

Marcus waved them off, and they quickly returned to the house to continue the party.

Just like that, the confrontation was over.

Nicole said nothing and turned to leave with Cola.

“Wait.” Marcus stopped her, then walked over and held out his hand. “Ms. Floyd, aren’t you forgetting something?

Nicole feigned ignorance. “Like what?”

“My family’s gun. The one you took from my bodyguard.”

“I picked it up off the ground,” Nicole said.

“Either way, it belongs to my family.”

Nicole had plenty of guns of her own and wanted nothing to do with the Robinsons, so she reached into her pocket and pulled it out.
