Chapter 518
Of course not!
Marcus nearly choked.
Nicole was attractive, but beautiful women were the one thing he had never lacked. He had been around every type imaginable.
Actresses, influencers, models, regular girls. Before the apocalypse, all he had to do was show a little interest, and women came running.
“You’re getting ahead of yourself.” Marcus’s expression darkened. “I’m interested in you because you’re mysterious.”
Nicole relaxed. For a second, she was genuinely worried. Having a man like Marcus fall for her would be nothing
but trouble.
“So?”
“I was curious about you, so I crashed into your car.”
Nicole smiled. “The way your mind works is fascinating. Maybe I should crack your skull open and study it.”
She was definitely the first woman who had ever dared speak to him that way.
Marcus looked away, visibly uncomfortable. “I didn’t expect things to get so out of hand. I’m…sorry.”
Well, that was unexpected. Even a spoiled rich kid knew how to apologize.
If it had been anyone else, Nicole might not have let the matter go so easily. But then she remembered the vehicles and parts sitting in her storage space, along with the seven-figure pink diamond it had absorbed.
She still felt a little guilty.
Besides, all she wanted was to live quietly in the villa. The Robinsons weren’t people she wanted as enemies. Since Marcus had offered her a way to end the conflict, there was no reason to keep pushing until neither side could
back down.
“I accept your apology.”
Nicole looked him straight in the eye.
“I leave people alone when they leave me alone. All I want is to close my gate and live in peace. I’m not interested in any of you, so from now on, let’s stay out of each other’s way. Better yet, pretend Villa 50 doesn’t exist. But if any of you insist on causing trouble, we won’t back down.”
By “you,” she meant all the wealthy residents who thought they ruled the neighborhood.
Her words weren’t just for Marcus. They were also meant for every arrogant neighbor listening nearby.
Marcus found the whole thing humiliating, but when he remembered how drastically Eric’s attitude had changed after speaking with Jasper, he swallowed his pride.
He gave a casual wave and walked away.
Cola refused to move. He stood there glaring after the offending leg until it disappeared from sight, his teeth still bared.

Nicole patted his head and went inside.
After she closed the gate, Zeph came downstairs. “What did he say?”
Nicole answered honestly. “He said he was interested in me.”
Zeph frowned.
After a long silence, he asked, “And what about you?”
Nicole stepped closer, a teasing glint in her eyes. “Are you jealous?”
Zeph wrapped his arms around her. “Are you interested in him, too?”
Nicole laughed. “Do you really have that little confidence in yourself?”
Of course, he didn’t, but the thought still bothered him.
“You’re overthinking it. I think I knocked something loose in his head. His brain clearly isn’t working right anymore.”
Nicole sat down and explained everything.
“Marcus is the youngest son in the Robinson family. He was spoiled rotten from the day he was born, and everyone around him bent over backward to give him whatever he wanted. It’s no surprise he grew up arrogant and entitled. Then the apocalypse happened and knocked some sense into him.
