The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 524

Chapter 524

The stench was overwhelming, and the sight was even worse. Marcus covered his nose and stayed well back.

When Camila saw the disgust on his face, she wished the ground would swallow her whole. But Nicole still had her pinned beneath one foot, and she couldn’t even move.

She couldn’t be more embarrassed.

Marcus put on a respirator before cautiously approaching.

He finally managed to replace his slippers, and there was no way he was letting the new pair touch that filth.

As president of the HOA, he was responsible for mediating disputes between homeowners, so he asked, “Do you want to call the police or settle this yourselves?”

Once the police got involved, Camila’s actions would go on the official record.

Irene had no intention of letting things escalate that far, so she said to Marcus, “This is all a misunderstanding.”

Marcus turned to Nicole. “What do you wanna do?”

Nicole knew from the start that the Clarks wouldn’t want the police involved. She replied coldly, “We can settle it ourselves, but she has to lick my gate clean.”

“Come on. She was wrong to smear that filth all over your gate, but look at her. You nearly killed her. You’ve made your point, so let her go.”

Nicole didn’t give in. “And who’s going to protect me if this happens again?”

Marcus thumped his chest. “I will. I’m the HOA president now. If anyone comes after you for no reason, come to me. I’ll make sure it’s handled.”

Nicole rejected the offer without hesitation. “I don’t trust you.”

“Come on.” Marcus took a deep breath. “Do me a favor and let this one go, alright?”

The sudden change in his attitude almost made Nicole laugh. Who would have thought a spoiled rich kid like Marcus could ever swallow his pride and ask someone for a favor?

Since he had given her a way to end things without backing down, she wouldn’t drag it out.

“Alright. I’ll let her go this time for your sake. But if anyone comes after me again, I won’t be nearly this forgiving.

The guards dispersed the crowd, and Marcus ordered Irene to have someone clean the gate at Villa 50.

The moment he finished speaking, he hurried away, terrified that some of the filth on Camila might get on him.

“Ugh…”

Camila stared after him and burst into heartbroken sobs.

In that moment, she knew she and Marcus would never have a chance.

Camila blamed Nicole for everything and silently vowed to make her pay.

Irene gave Nicole a complicated look, then quickly called the household staff over to clean up the mess before taking her daughter home.

Camila cried and vomited the entire way. “Mom, what am I supposed to do now? I don’t wanna live anymore!”

Irene said nothing. She was so lost in thought that she hadn’t heard a word her daughter said.

“Mom, I’m talking to you! Are you disgusted with me, too?”

Irene snapped out of her thoughts. “Camila, you’re staying home for the next few months. No parties, no going out. People have short memories. Give it time, and they’ll forget what happened today.”

Meanwhile, Marcus returned home grinning from ear to ear.

“Dad, do you know what just happened outside?”

Eric glanced at his useless son. “Did you piss off the people from Villa 50 again?”

“The Clarks did. Camila ordered a servant to smear filth all over Villa 50. She got caught, got the crap beaten out of her, and ended up with her face pressed into it.”

Marcus could barely contain his delight.

“You wouldn’t want a daughter-in-law who’s had her face rubbed in human waste, would you? Stop trying to set me up with Camila.”

He gagged.

“Just thinking about her makes me sick now!”
