Chapter 540
“Wait, I was just saying that. You actually had the nerve to ask for my helicopter?”
The moment Marcus realized Nicole was pointing at the helicopter, his adrenaline spiked.
“If I gave you that, my dad would kill me!”
Eric had spent a fortune in supplies and called in countless favors to get that helicopter.
Before the disasters, Marcus wouldn’t have thought twice about honoring the bet and giving her one.
But now, as much as he hated to admit it, he was probably worth less to his father than that helicopter. There was no way he was going to ask.
Nicole mocked him mercilessly.
“Then don’t make promises you can’t keep. Forget the helicopter, but if you keep bothering me, I won’t play nice”
She gestured to Cola. “Cola, come back.”
Cola released the mastiff. Only after making sure the terrified dog wouldn’t try anything did he cautiously return
to Nicole’s side.
“That really hurts my pride,” Marcus protested. “I can get you anything you want. Anything but the helicopter.”
The spoiled rich kid clearly didn’t understand plain English. Nicole was at a loss for words.
“Fine,” she said at last. “Get me a few radiation suits.”
“No problem… Wait, what do you need radiation suits for?”
Nicole stared at him without answering.
Marcus didn’t press her. “Fine. Just wait.”
Humiliated and furious, he grabbed the mastiff’s leash and stormed off.
The moment he got home, he tossed the leash to the butler. “Peter, we’re having dog stew tonight!”
“Mr. Robinson, what happened to your face?”
What happened? It was all that useless dog’s fault!
Marcus kicked off his slippers and dropped onto the couch in a fury.
Eric happened to be coming down from the second-floor study. Without even looking up, Marcus said, “Dad, get me a few radiation suits.”
Eric frowned. “What do you need radiation suits for?”
“They’re not for me. The people in Villa 50 want them.”
Eric’s cane came flying at him with practiced accuracy. “Did everything I said go in one ear and out the other? You think I won’t break your legs? I told you to stay away from Villa 50!”
He had already gotten beaten outside, only to come home and get another beating.
“What’s wrong with helping me get them?” Marcus complained. “Even Chief Anderson looks out for the people in

Villa 50. They obviously aren’t ordinary. Do you really think they want radiation suits for no reason?”
Maybe another earthquake was coming, and one of the coastal nuclear plants would be damaged.
“Dad, radiation suits aren’t easy to get. Since you’re already asking, make sure you get enough for our family, too.
Every time someone called in a favor, they used up a little more goodwill. It made more sense to ask for everything at once.
Eric frowned. Having radiation suits on hand wouldn’t be a bad idea. It might also help him figure out what the people in Villa 50 knew.
“What happened to your face?”
“Nothing. I tripped.”
“You’re this young and already having trouble standing?”
Marcus stormed back to his room to salvage what little dignity he had left.
Eric called down the bodyguard stationed on the roof and finally learned how his reckless son had been injured.
That useless brat never learned his lesson. No matter how many times he got beaten, he kept throwing himself
into trouble.
