The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 564

Chapter 564

Supplies poured out of Villa 32 and were loaded into waiting vehicles.

Once the vehicles were full, the guards smashed through the wooden barrier and moved on to Villa 33 next door.

It didn’t have high walls either, only a decorative fence. To the rioters, it might as well have been made of paper..

The night had only just begun, and no one would be getting any sleep.

Still, no one dared step outside. They hid inside their homes, trembling and praying to every god they knew that the rioters would pass them by.

The rooftop light at Villa 49 came on. Sven hurried upstairs and stared tensely into the distance. When he spotted Nicole, he immediately raised his radio.

“How are things over there? I dug a basement under my house. Do you want to come over?”

Sven wasn’t much of a fighter, but he had plenty of supplies. If Nicole and Zeph joined him, both families would be safer.

“We’re fine here. You and Brandon be careful. If they break in, hide in the basement. Don’t try to fight them.”

The guards were only the beginning. More rioters were already approaching with knives.

Villa 33 was too far away for Nicole to do anything. She took a deep breath and forced herself to stop watching.

She was only one person. She couldn’t save everyone.

All she could do now was make sure Villa 50 survived the chaos.

Nicole and Zeph worked together to move the sprayer to the edge of the roof overlooking the front yard. Once they opened the glass panel, they would be able to spray gasoline outside.

Next door, Sven pulled back a tarp and revealed a sprayer of his own.

Nicole stared at it.

He hadn’t just copied their setup; he had reproduced it down to the smallest detail.

He had already modeled his villa after theirs, and now he had somehow gotten Weasel to tell him about the sprayer and secure one for himself.

Weasel had probably gotten another beating for that.

The violence continued. Villa 33 fell in less than half an hour, and the guards moved on to Villa 18.

The way they operated made it obvious that they had planned this long before polar night began.

Every target was someone who had looked down on them, constantly ordered them around, treated them as less than human, and stripped away their dignity.

During polar day, the guards played the part of obedient servants and catered to every demand. In reality, they had been studying the residents and learning the layouts of their homes, all while waiting for polar night to arrive.

Now, they had dropped the act and were paying back every humiliation a thousand times over.

Killing alone wasn’t enough for them. They showed no mercy to anyone, regardless of age or gender, especially the wealthy young men and women who had tormented them.

Bang! Bang!

Several gunshots cracked through the darkness, then abruptly stopped.

The looting and killing continued. Since the guards had already studied every target, they knew exactly where to go. They took supplies while settling old scores.

Even when a homeowner’s door was locked, they didn’t bother forcing it open. They simply pulled out a key.

It was a twisted game of cruelty and revenge.

Nicole was glad they had always been careful. Several times, the guards on patrol had seen her and Zeph carrying things home and eagerly offered to help.

She had refused every time.

The other residents treated the guards worse than their own servants, ordering them to take out the trash, walk their pets, and handle every unpleasant chore.

In the process, the guards learned the layouts of their homes inside and out. The residents never even realized their keys had been copied.
