The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 580

Chapter 580

The black moss grew quickly enough to feed poultry, which meant the residents could eventually raise their own meat.

Of course, feeding the birds nothing but black moss wasn’t ideal. They would need vegetable seeds, too.

But none of them dared approach Villa 50 directly, so they went through Sven instead.

Sven was a shrewd middleman who knew exactly how to play both sides. He might usually speak politely to the wealthy residents, but the situation had changed completely.

They swallowed their pride and showered Sven with compliments, a far cry from the condescending way they used to behave.

“Sven, we’re counting on you. You’ve really got to help us out with this.”

Sven put on a reluctant expression. “I’ll ask, but I can’t promise Villa 50 will agree. After all, you people used to… Well, that’s all in the past. No point bringing it up.”

“Everyone’s equal. We’ve always respected Villa 50. It was our wives who didn’t know any better and let themselves get manipulated into causing trouble. We already taught them a harsh lesson.”

People in business knew when to bend. Once they accepted reality, they adjusted quickly. As long as they could live well, who cared about dignity?

Villa 50’s strength spoke for itself, and building a relationship with them could only help. Even Marcus shamelessly sucked up to them. Given the chance, the others were confident they could do an even better job.

Syen actually brought the matter up with Nicole.

Now that things had settled down in the neighborhood, Sven brought Brandon over to Villa 50 for dinner.

Nothing hit the spot in weather this cold like a steaming bowl of stew. Good food was always better when shared. After a couple of glasses of whiskey, Sven felt pleasantly lightheaded.

“We can’t give them what they want the moment they ask. We need to make them work for it. If things come too easily, no one will take us seriously.”

When it came to managing customers, Sven was second to none.

“Mark my words. The moment the polar night ends, they’ll turn on us without hesitation.”

Nicole agreed. The polar night would last three long years, and she still needed to build up a steady supply of meat and eggs. She certainly wasn’t going to put those people first.
