The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 647

Chapter 647

The owners had been dead for years. At this point, no one was going to come around and kick Hughie’s group out.

As for the homeowners who were still alive, they had enough problems of their own and probably wouldn’t bother making trouble for them.

“Selling makes sense. There are empty houses all over the neighborhood anyway.”

Nicole thought for a moment.

“Nobody knows how long this smog will last. The authorities have taken a huge hit, too. I doubt they have the manpower to deal with abandoned properties anytime soon. You might as well stay here.”

The apocalypse was nothing like normal life. No one was filing death certificates or updating property records. Unless someone reported a house or the authorities launched an inspection, they had no way of knowing which properties had been abandoned.

And inspections took manpower they simply didn’t have.

After the smog came acid rain. The disasters never gave anyone a chance to recover.

That settled it for the others.

“Alright. We’ll sell our apartments too and use the money to buy glass.”

A volcanic eruption powerful enough to sink Ardelon had sent smog all the way south and triggered a deadly outbreak. God only knew what would come next.

They figured it was safer to follow Nicole’s lead and keep up with whatever preparations she made. At least then they could sleep a little easier. 1

After dinner, Nicole didn’t go straight home. She took a walk around the neighborhood instead.

When she reached the villa in the best spot in the neighborhood, she could just make out a slim woman holding a little boy’s hand.

“Mommy, is he really my daddy?”

That voice sounded familiar. Nicole was sure she had heard it before.

She had already walked quite a ways when it suddenly clicked.

Mini Jason!

According to Marcus, after Wendy was forced to compensate Eric for the plane, she went home and found Jason still moping over his broken heart like his life was over. She got so mad that she broke his other arm herself.

“You don’t want to live anymore? Fine. Go die. I’ll stand right here and watch!”

If Eric hadn’t held her back with everything he had, she might’ve actually thrown her own son out the window.

“What’s the big deal? I can always have another one!” Wendy snapped.
