If Wendy hadn't slapped Valerie across the face several times and made Jason's eyes twitch violently, Nicole might've thought he had completely given up on living.
Wendy gritted her teeth in fury.
"If you want to die that badly, then go ahead! Die and leave your son behind!"
If Valerie hadn't thrown a fit and insisted on moving into that part of the house, Jason and Gerry never would've gone with her just to keep her happy.
And now, it had all ended in disaster. The building had collapsed, Valerie was dead, her unborn baby was gone, Jason was paralyzed from a spinal injury, and Gerry had lost his mother.
Wendy felt like she was losing her mind. If she had known Jason would end up like this, she would've strangled him at birth and spared them all this misery.
Marcus wrapped his arms around the hysterical Wendy. "Aunt Wendy, calm down."
Wendy broke down sobbing. "He'd be better off dead! At least then it'd all be over!"
Orthopedics and neurology weren't Nicole's specialties, so all she could do was treat Jason's external injuries. Remembering how many of the supplies she had taken in the past originally belonged to Jason, she offered a suggestion.
"His nerves were damaged. If you can find someone qualified, you could try needle therapy and see if it helps."
As for where they were supposed to find a needle therapy specialist, she had no idea.
Once Nicole finished treating Jason's injuries, she hurried off to finally relieve her aching bladder.
By then, daylight had arrived, and the rescue operation had finally come to an end.
Because visibility was so poor during the night, Jeremy, Sven, and a few others picked up some minor cuts and scrapes. The Robinsons had plenty of medicine, so they could take care of those themselves.
From the wreckage of the collapsed side wing, they dug out a huge blackened object nearly twice the size of an escape pod.
This was what caused so many injuries and deaths.
Everyone gathered around it, murmuring among themselves.
"What the hell is this thing? It doesn't look like a missile."
Nicole studied it from several angles. "It looks like...a satellite."
A satellite?
Everyone stared at her blankly.
Those who knew little about satellites looked confused.
