The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 90

Chapter 90

Still, there wasn’t much left out there anymore. If they wanted to survive, they had to look inside the building.

If something was going to happen, it had to be everyone together. Oliver wasn’t about to take the fall alone.

So he went with the same plan as before: mob up.

With that many people in the building, there was no way the 18th floor could take them all out.

That night, Nicole had just finished sparring with Zeph. She stepped out, soaked in sweat, when she heard knocking downstairs.

The person at the door was wrapped up tight, with only his eyes visible. He slipped a piece of paper through the

crack.

“You’re in danger,” he said. “Be careful.”

After that, he turned and left in a hurry.

The person was covered from head to toe, but Nicole still recognized his voice.

It was Victor. He came to warn them: Oliver had rallied the whole building and planned to force the 18th floor to hand over supplies.

Everyone gathered in Hughie’s apartment.

Nicole laid the note out. “What do you think?”

Beatrice didn’t hesitate. “Let them come! We’re not scared of them!”

Supplies were survival. No one was giving that up. Even if Oliver only asked for a portion this time, what about next time? And the time after that?

Not just Beatrice. Jeremy and Hughie weren’t having it, either.

Cola bared his teeth. “Woof!”

If anyone tried to take his food, he would fight till the end!

So, they came to a unanimous decision.

No.

Those guys wanted supplies? Keep dreaming!

If they were right, the group would come up tomorrow.

Everyone understood that this wouldn’t be the last time. Even if it wasn’t people from the building, others would come eventually.

No one wanted to live like this, always on edge.

But this was the apocalypse. You either fought or got eaten.

They split up to prepare. Tomorrow was going to be ugly.

Back home, Nicole pulled out protective gear from her storage space. Anti-stab, anti-cut clothing.

She measured Cola. She wasn’t great at making clothes, so she had to figure it out as she went, trying to give the dog the best protection she could.

Cola didn’t like being restricted, but after all the treatments for his skin condition, he had gotten used to wearing something.

He was well-fed and strong now, his fur smooth and healthy. All that training with Zeph had turned him into pure

muscle.

Nicole ran her hands over his body. He had gotten bigger.

After cutting and adjusting for two hours, she finally finished the protective vest. She left some extra room. Cola was still growing.

To help Cola get used to it, she opened the door and let him run. He moved just fine.

Nicole smiled, feeling pleased. Maybe she wasn’t bad at this after all.

They ate, cleaned up, and went to sleep.

Nicole slept straight through until morning.

Cola suddenly got restless, like he was ready for a fight.

Nicole opened the door.

Sure enough, voices echoed from downstairs. There was knocking and Oliver’s voice, polite on the surface, but

fake.
