Hugo’s voice carried a force that could stir anyone’s heart. Even Thora’s steady eyes flickered with emotion.
Sector Six referred to the entire empire.
Who would have the nerve to take charge of such a powerful military zone?
But Hugo had done it. He stood before the congress, argued against everyone, and convinced most of the lawmakers. Hugo even secured the funding he needed.
For the empire, this move was something no one had ever done before.
And Sector Six had only one elite unit.
Wolffang unit.
Thora’s calm eyes finally showed a spark of true interest.
Sector Six… the whole empire at her command. That was a bold move.
But she liked it.
For the first time, she found herself genuinely impressed by the man standing in front of her.
Hugo steadied his emotions and went on. “This group will also be the next batch of candidates the empire sends to Blue Star Military Academy.”
Thora lifted her chin slightly, her eyes narrowing.
She remembered this academy.
Blue Star Military Academy was the top werewolf military school across the entire planet. The best instructors. The newest combat systems. The most advanced research labs.
“In all of Chaules,” Hugo continued, “every great warrior and officer came from this academy. And our empire is no different. But today, we only have two soldiers who managed to graduate from there. Both hold high positions now.”
He paused before adding quietly, “Their ranks are already above General. But they’re getting old. This empire needs fresh blood. Yet year after year, every time we send people to Blue Star Military Academy, they either fail the qualifications or get into the academy and can’t survive that ruthless place or-” His voice tightened. “They get poached by other empires, turn their backs on Astralis, and betray us.”
Well, that’s some terrible luck you’ve got. Thora almost blurted that out, but she swallowed it.
From a soldier’s point of view, she hated betrayal more than anything.
A soldier’s loyalty is the bottom line. The moment you put on the uniform, betrayal becomes a crime worthy of public judgment.

“So for all these years, Astralis hasn’t had a single student who could graduate from Blue Star Military Academy,” Hugo said with a heavy sigh. “And because of old history, the academy has a strong bias against our kind. It’s already hard to get in, and the chances keep getting worse. If this continues, we’ll fall behind the times and lose every advantage.”
That was one of the reasons the congress finally agreed to his plan.
But Hugo still hid one secret, the strange time-energy disturbance.
Until the Wolffang Unit grew strong enough, that secret could never be exposed.
Thora listened calmly, but her interest in the academy grew.
It produced the best werewolf soldiers on the entire planet. She wanted to know what made it special.
“So,” Thora summed up plainly, “you want to build a special forces team that serves Astralis and the Lycan King. You want them to enter the academy, study their newest battle ideas, learn how the enemy thinks, and actually graduate. Right?”
“Exactly.” Hugo nodded. “Which is why the members of Sector Six must be the very best.”
He locked eyes with her. His voice grew firm. “Thora, as Commander-in-Chief of Sector Six, I’m giving you
a special offer. Join the Wolffang Unit, you’ll enter with the rank of Major, and you’ll have the highest clearance in all regions of Astralis.”
He paused, then added, “You were born for the military. I hope you think carefully.”
Thora didn’t answer right away. She only held his gaze.
His sharp, hawk-like eyes carried certainty and expectation.
Hugo was persuasive-almost dangerously so.
Any werewolf soldier would be tempted by his promise.
Thora wasn’t immune to that.
Sector Six. Blue Star Military Academy. Both stirred her curiosity.
But this life, she didn’t plan to fight for anyone else.
Not for the empire. Not for the Lycan King. Not for any congress.
She knew too well. Soldiers could be abandoned at any time for the greater good.
Thora didn’t mind being thrown away. She only cared whether the cause was worth it.
Right now, she wanted to live for herself.
Because of this, she hesitated.
Still, the truth was, she didn’t have many options.
If she wanted to stay true to who she was, the military was the only world that still felt familiar. It was the
