Chapter 130 She Deserves It
Third-person POV:
The smell of gunpowder hung thick in the air.
Everyone stared at Thora with wide eyes.
She actually fired!
No one thought she’d really pull the trigger. They assumed it was just for show.
But now, they could see her ruthless, no-nonsense side.
Luckily, she had angled the shot at the last moment. The bullet grazed Laurel’s shoulder.
Laurel didn’t know if it was fear or pain. She went black and collapsed to the floor.
“Mom!” Hazel screamed, crawling to Laurel’s side.

Norman pointed at Thora, trembling with fury. “You … you beast! You’ll pay for this! Someone! Hurry!”
Marlon, who had just arrived, froze for a second, then let out a shaky breath.
Good thing Laurel was still alive.
The moment Marlon showed up, everyone stood, but their eyes stayed on Thora. They were stunned by how she’d shot Laurel. Awe mixed with fear.
“Howard.”
Thora’s face stayed calm as she wiped the blood off her clothes with a handkerchief.
Howard got it immediately and handed Norman a pile of files and photos.
Thora said casually, “These prove that Laurel has been seeing other men behind your back all these years, and what she’s done in the Greens without you knowing. With your temper, you might’ve killed her if you’d known, right?”
She raised an eyebrow. “But somehow, the fact that she murdered my mother isn’t enough to deserve death, huh?”
Thora hadn’t killed Laurel because she wanted to lay bait.
Just as she expected, someone was standing behind Laurel.
She needed to figure out who they were and what they were after, and Laurel was the perfect bait.
Thora ignored Norman’s twisting face as he flipped through the photos. She walked over to Marlon and took his wheelchair from the werewolf guards.
Marlon cleared his throat, raised a hand, and said loudly, “Everyone here, don’t second-guess me or peek at things you shouldn’t! Just because I’m sick doesn’t mean I’m clueless. I’m still the Alpha of the Silverleaf

Immediately, the pack members and elders bowed their heads. Not a single person dared to disrespect him.
Marlon finally exhaled and looked at Thora. “Is it handled?”
Thora nodded, glanced at Evren and Felix. “All set. Let’s go.”
She pushed Marlon out of the hall in his wheelchair.
Evren stood, snorted at Norman, grabbed Felix, and followed her out.
Back at Thora’s private villa, she poured hot tea for Marlon and Evren.
“Grandpa Marlon, why’d you come here?” she asked.
Marlon sipped his tea, snapping softly, “If I hadn’t shown up, were you really going to kill Laurel?”
Thora’s voice went cold. “She deserves it.”
“You-”
Marlon nearly gasped for air. But seeing Thora’s calm face, he finally exhaled deeply. “I understand. You’re avenging your mother, so I won’t stop you. But she’s still your stepmother. If she’s going to die, it shouldn’t be by your hand. Do you know what people will say if you do it yourself?”
Thora didn’t reply. She lifted her cup and sipped quietly.
“Don’t think you can boss Thora around just because you’re sick! No one in your family is good. Whatever she does is right!” Evren planted his cane and clearly sided with Thora..
Marlon noticed Evren’s anger and let it slide.”
The Greens owed the Talons big time. They might never be able to repay it.
“Enough. Let’s drop it,” Marlon said, ready to end the discussion.
Felix stepped in to smooth things over. “Yeah, Grandpa Evren, Grandpa Marlon, it’s done. Please don’t blame Thora.”
Evren let it go as well.
He wanted the person who killed Diane, but he’d support Thora no matter what.
“Thora, that uniform …”
Evren finally asked once things calmed.
Thora met the two elders’ eyes, her voice steady. “Grandpa Evren, Grandpa Marlon, as you can see, I’m a soldier now. I might be gone for a long time, so please take care of yourselves.”
She turned to Felix. “While I’m away, keep an eye on them.”

It sounded polite, but it carried the weight of a command.
Felix squared his legs, stood straight, and said firmly, “Got it, Thora.”
With Marlon’s praise and Evren’s worried grumbling, the conversation wrapped up.
Soon, only Thora and Felix were left in the villa’s main hall.
Felix eyed his sister in her sharp uniform, hesitating. “Thora … ”
Thora snapped her pistol back into a wristband and fastened it on. “If you don’t want to return, you can stay here. This is your home now. If you need anything, just ask Howard.”
She stared at him.
He smiled faintly and nodded. “Okay.” He definitely didn’t want to return after today.
“Do whatever you want. If you need help …”
Thora paused and thought for a while, then said, “Go to your brother-in-law.”
Felix tensed up right away. “Brotherinlaw?!””
