The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 136

**Shadows Hearts by Joseph King**

**Chapter 136: I Won’t Tolerate Traitors**

“Boss,” Ashton announced, his voice slicing through the tension in the air as he knocked and ushered someone into the room.

After a few days spent in solitary confinement, Shirley’s wild energy had finally begun to settle. With her head bowed, she resembled a child caught in a lie, slowly shuffling toward Thora.

Ashton stepped aside, his presence fading into the background, allowing the two women to confront one another.

“Thora, at last! You’ve arrived!” Shirley exclaimed, a grin breaking across her face as she attempted to plop down into a chair with the confidence of someone who owned the place.

“Did I give you permission to sit?” Thora’s voice was low yet sharp, slicing through the room like a knife.

Before Shirley could even settle into the chair, that single line jolted her upright. Her smile evaporated, replaced by a look of shock as she froze in place.

Thora’s frown deepened, her gaze unwavering.

She had always understood that the Wolflang Unit was not some rigid, rule-following military organization. Thora didn’t want soldiers who merely obeyed orders; she craved partners who could strategize and think on their feet in the chaos of battle.

Yet, that jittery energy radiating from Shirley? Thora never intended to extinguish it completely.

However, there were boundaries she simply could not ignore.

“If you ever harm your teammates, your friends, or your family again, you’re out. No second chances,” Thora declared, fixing Shirley with a serious, unwavering stare.

Shirley bit down on her lip, a flicker of hurt crossing her features as she studied Thora closely.

“I won’t tolerate traitors who betray their own,” Thora continued, her expression unyielding.

“I know…” Shirley’s voice held a tinge of frustration, a defensiveness creeping into her tone. “But they started it! They picked on us first…”

Thora’s lips twitched slightly, a hint of a smile threatening to break through her stern facade. “That won’t happen again,” she assured, her voice softer now.

At the sight of that smile, Shirley’s eyes lit up, and a broad grin spread across her face, dispelling the tension that had hung in the air moments before.

“So… can I sit now?” she asked, her tone hopeful.

Thora raised an eyebrow, her silence serving as an answer.

With a triumphant flourish, Shirley dragged a chair closer, swung a leg over it, and leaned in conspiratorially. “By the way, I rushed over here and totally forgot something. Did you bring it?”

“What’s it?” Thora asked, her brow furrowing in confusion.

Shirley clicked her tongue, lowering her voice to a whisper. “Pads!”
