The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 158

Chapter 158 Betting Lives

Lance sat down elegantly, his gaze meeting Thora’s with a smile.

“May I know your name, sir?”

At this moment, he appeared just as relined and cultured as his attire suggested.

Lance, the leader of Greywolf, was equally skilled at disguising himself as anyone.

Just like when he’d attacked Astralis College while disguised as an ordinary teacher.

Today Lance wore a different face as well, but from the moment this person appeared, Thora had already confirmed his identity.

She never made the same mistake twice.

Thora looked at him and coolly uttered a single word. “Ash.”

Shirley stared at Lance warily, unconsciously pressing closer to Thora’s side.

She had naturally sharp instincts and investigative abilities. Being someone who excelled at hiding and deception herself, she’d recognized Lance’s identity immediately.

Harvey, however, hadn’t recognized him, though both he and Tristan sensed this man was trouble and grew alert.

Tristan shifted forward half a step, positioning himself at Thora’s side.

Tristan’s subtle movement naturally caught Lance’s attention, and a trace of interest flickered through his

eyes.

How protective and loyal…

Lance’s appearance made several other forces hidden throughout the Sky Casino quietly take notice.

But seeing that Thora was just an ordinary young man, they quietly withdrew their gazes.

Dorian frowned.

Lance?

Even he showed up. It looked like today’s show would be quite entertaining.

He just didn’t know which client had hired the Greywolf this time.

He was genuinely curious and looking forward to finding out.

Dorian picked up a glass of red wine and swirled it leisurely in his hand, watching the scene in the hall

below with interest.

Lance laced his fingers together and rested them in front of him, asking like a gentleman. “Since it’s just th two of us in this round, how about we play something simple and direct?”

Thora’s lips curved. “Be my guest.”

Those three simple words somehow made Thora appear both courteous and generous.

The smile in Lance’s eyes deepened. “So what do you think we should bet on?”

Thora frowned, her expression showing some impatience. “Why are you being so difficult? You’re the one who brought it up, so why are you asking me? If you haven’t figured it out yet, why even ask?”

Three rapid-fire questions, seemingly random but each one leaving no room for rebuttal.

Everyone froze for a moment. They had never encountered someone so brutally blunt.

The person before them was clearly not someone to mess with.

But this young man, whether from youthful fearlessness or plain recklessness, actually talked to people like this?

Even Lance’s expression cracked, completely unprepared for Thora’s unconventional approach.

Harvey and Tristan looked at each other. Luckily, they were used to their boss’s style-he always acted serious but was actually just messing with people. They were long past being surprised by it.
