The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 223

Chapter 223 Rumors in the City

After the ceremony that night, news spread across the city that the Silverleaf Pack and the Argenvale Pack had formed a pact.

But two days later, another rumor swept through the city. People said that Laurel’s old injuries had returned, she’d fallen sick, and there was no saving her. Soon, word spread that she had passed away.

The news shocked the wealthy families of Starlance City.

Those who knew how Laurel had climbed to her position only sighed and said it was karma. The only one they truly pitied was little Alfie, barely one year old and already without a mother.

But before long, all that sympathy was drowned out by even bigger news. Thora had officially taken the Alpha position.

Most people still believed Thora was that half-blood girl who could never awaken her wolf spirit. No one expected she’d actually take the Alpha seat and without any challenge.

People who knew the truth quickly corrected the rumors. Thora had awakened her wolf spirit long ago. Her strength was so overwhelming that she could crush Norman, who carried pure Alpha blood.

And she wasn’t a “nobody” at all. Two years ago, the army had already recruited her. Now she held the rank of major general.

But how a girl everyone once looked down on managed to reach such terrifying achievements in just two short years remained a mystery. No one knew the real story.

As news of Thora becoming the Alpha spread, another old headline resurfaced online. Thora and Darius were once making a mating pact.

When people looked at it now, they had to admit the two were a perfect match.

Both had become Alphas of their packs at eighteen. Thora led the Silverleaf Pack. Darius led the Nightclaw Pack. Achievements like this were almost unheard of in werewolf history.

But Thora paid no attention to any of these talks.

After resolving the family matters and completing her succession ceremony, she announced she would temporarily leave the pack for a mission. Marlon and the elders would handle everything in her absence.

If a major emergency hit and they couldn’t reach her, they were to contact Darius directly.

With the pack settled, Thora immediately returned to her daily training. She was now preparing with full force for her entrance exam at Blue Star Military Academy.

That day, Thora was checking Felix’s training progress from the past two years. She suddenly received a call from Harvey.

Felix had a strong body. After resting for a while, his injuries were almost healed.

But the moment he healed, his suffering began. Thora had forced him to undergo every kind of training test possible. If even one subject fell below her standards, he’d end up getting a good beating.

When Thora answered her phone, Felix finally breathed a sigh of relief. Covered in sweat, he stepped aside and grabbed a towel.

“I understand,” Thora said in a low voice before hanging up.

Felix glanced back with a puzzled look. He could clearly feel something was off with Thora. “What’s wrong?”

Thora didn’t answer. She only stared at him. “Keep training. I’m heading out.”

Felix frowned but nodded. “Okay.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Thora walked out of the training room and drove away.

The moment she left, Felix dropped his towel. His hands curled into tight fists as he went straight back into training.

This version of him was entirely different from the one standing in front of Thora earlier. Gone was the little brother who leaned on her so much.

He knew very well. If he wasn’t good enough, Thora would have to spend more time watching him, correcting him, and guiding him.

Even getting hit by her was better than watching her run around solving everyone else’s problems with no time left for herself.

On the road, Thora drove while replaying Harvey’s call in her mind.

It was about Ashton.

This was the first time she learned that Ashton had joined the military without getting his family’s permission.
