Chapter 226 Sudden Change
The ability user had just lifted his silver knife when Thora’s combat blade knocked it right out of his hand.
She stepped forward in two quick strides and, with a few sharp moves, dislocated his jaw and all four limbs.
His body collapsed flat on the ground. He couldn’t even kill himself now.
Because his arms, legs, and jaw were completely useless, he lay there in a twisted position. His mouth hung open as he groaned in pain, staring at Thora with wide, furious eyes.
“Good thing I stopped him before he died,” Thora said calmly.
Her lightning-fast reaction left Daniel frozen for several seconds.
Thora really lived up to her military background—her speed and reflexes were unreal.
“What do we do with him?” Daniel asked.
Thora’s voice was cold. “Take him to my villa. Tell Shirley to keep him locked down.”
“Yes, Ms. Green.” Daniel nodded.
“And tell Darius something for me.” She paused. “Tell him to come to my place tonight, pack his things, and leave immediately.”
After speaking, Thora walked to her car, opened the door, and got inside.
The car spun in a clean drift, tires screeching, and shot down the road until it vanished from sight.
Daniel and the whole squad just stared. That entire sequence was so smooth and precise that it left them speechless.
Once she was gone, Daniel called Darius to report what had happened.
Darius listened and said only, “Got it,” and was about to end the call. But Daniel quickly added, “Alpha, Ms. Green asked me to pass you a message.”
Darius raised a brow. There was a hint of hope in his voice. “Go ahead.”
Daniel hesitated, but he still said the truth: “Ms. Green wants you to go to her place tonight, pack your things, and leave.”

Darius stayed silent for a moment, then said, “You chased her for half the day and still couldn’t catch her. Terrible work. I’m docking two months of your bonus.”
Then he hung up without waiting for a reply. He stared at the road footage on his screen, sinking into deep thought.
Carl assumed Darius was trying to figure out who attacked Thora, so he also stood there, seriously thinking.
But Darius wasn’t thinking about Thora’s attackers. He wasn’t thinking about their identities. He was thinking about something much harder.
After I pack, where am I supposed to go? How do I get close to her? How do I stay by her side without being sent away?
He knew very well that the only reason she told him to come over tonight was probably related to the people trying to kill her.
After giving Daniel his orders, Thora drove out of the suburbs.
Leaving that ability user with Darius actually put her at ease.
Darius might act unserious most of the time, but after two years of working with him, she had learned that he always came through. At least, he never made trouble for her.
Thora checked the time, and her brows pulled together.
The earlier attack had cost her precious time. Now she still had to go to the military office to meet Ashton’s mother.
She turned the wheel and sped up. Her car shot down the road like a streak of lightning.
Meanwhile, inside the military office…
“Harvey, I know you and Ashton are good friends, but you can’t take him on missions like that!” Ashton’s mother, Wendy Smith, said firmly. “He’s my only son. One day, he has to take over the family company. If he joins a special forces unit, what happens to our business?”
Ashton stood straight at the side. His face was cold, but there was a hint of helplessness in his eyes. Even so, his attitude stayed firm.
“Wendy, don’t worry,” Harvey said seriously. “I will protect Ashton no matter what. Even if something happens to me, I won’t let him get hurt.”
Wendy was touched. “That’s wonderful! Ashton is lucky to have a friend like…” She didn’t finish.

Her expression flipped instantly. “But I still won’t let him join a special unit!”
Her sudden change left Harvey stunned.
Ashton had seen this many times, so he only rolled his eyes and stayed quiet.
“Where is your Commander? Why is she so late? How can someone like that manage a whole team?” Wendy snapped, lifting her chin like the professor she used to be.
