Elliott froze in place, not daring to move even an inch.

Darius took his time finishing his wine, then smiled playfully at Thora.

me?”

Even with the tension running high, Darius couldn’t help but flirt with Thora.

Thora shot him a cold glare. “You sure talk a lot. I’m surprised he didn’t make you mute for good.”

Darius’s grin widened. His eyes never left Thora, acting as if Elliott wasn’t even there.

Completely ignored, Elliott seethed with anger. “You think you’re getting off this boat? One word from me, and you’ll both be riddled with bullets, blown to pieces!”

He kept up the threats, but his thoughts were already reeling. How could the tranquilizer have worn off so fast? Was there something wrong with the drug I gave her?

But no one showed the slightest fear. Instead, he was met with a sudden, sharp pain at the back of his head.

Thora jabbed the barrel of her gun forward, a clear warning.

Elliott, sensing the danger, didn’t say another word, but inside he was dying to know who was behind him.

Even with the muzzle pressed against his head, his curiosity about Thora had completely overtaken his

anger.

Thora looked at Darius and just said, “Go.”

Darius stood up right away, moving as if he’d never been drugged.

Cold sweat broke out across Elliott’s back.

Why is he moving like he has never been drugged?

If he’s been fine all along, why did he play along with me this whole time?

Is this a setup, or…

He stopped himself from thinking further.

Thora marched Elliott out of the cabin.

Darius trailed behind, stretching his neck with two crisp cracks, the same smile still hanging on his lips.

The moment they stepped out of the cabin, every gun on deck swung toward them in unison.

The standoff was instant. Thora took a step forward, and the armed guards took a step back.
