Chapter 280 Draven
Finished
“They’re saltwater crocodiles-the largest and most aggressive left on Blue Star.” Ashley recognized them at once. Her voice had no fear, only curiosity as she glanced at Thora, clearly wondering how she’d react.
Thora didn’t even look at the pond. Instead, she scanned the area. “See if there’s a way around. If we can dodge it, we do.”
Luke immediately spread out to check the surroundings.
Number 79’s lips curved into a pleasant yet dangerous smile. “Don’t you think this croc pond is part of the test?”
Thora gave him a cool look. “Who says following the rules is the only way?”
Ashley’s eyes sparkled.
Following the rules wasn’t the only answer. In this world, the very existence of rule-breakers was reasonable and meaningful.
She was liking Thora more and more by the second.
Numb
79 kept that faint smile, and his gaze stayed fixed on Thora.
It made her uncomfortable.
She glanced back, but his mask hid his face completely.
People whose emotions she couldn’t read were always the toughest to deal with.
“Stop staring,” she said coldly, killing intent seeping into her tone. “I don’t like being watched.”
Ashley, always eager for drama, immediately turned to Number 79. “If Thora hits you, I’m on her side.”
Behind the mask, his red eyes narrowed. Black energy rippled out from him.
Thora’s expression shifted slightly, her whole body tensing.
But just as quickly, the black energy vanished.
He walked straight toward her, steady and heavy with presence.
Thora didn’t move.
She didn’t sense any killing intent, yet she couldn’t figure out what he wanted.
Thinking Number 79 was about to attack Thora, Ashley quietly tightened her grip on her gun.
Thora stayed upright, watching him stop right in front of her.
“Number 79-” she began, but before she could finish, a gloved finger touched her lower lip.
The sudden contact made her stiffen. Her eyes went icy as she tried to figure out how to handle his unusual

ability.
His finger slid to her chin and slowly pulled back.
“My name is Draven.”
He looked down at her, every word dripping with dominance. “And … you don’t get to hate it.”
You don’t get to hate the way I look at you.
Thora froze for a moment, not fully understanding what he meant.
Finished
But one thing was clear-he’d just told her his real name. Number 79 now had a proper name-Draven.
The rest of his words didn’t make sense to her, so she ignored them.
Since he didn’t seem like he wanted to attack, she wasn’t about to pick a fight.
Her
eyes flicked to the left glove that had touched her. Her voice stayed calm. “Try that again, and I can’t promise your hand will stay attached.”
It wasn’t a threat-it was just stating the facts.
Draven didn’t answer, but a cold glint appeared in his eyes.
Ashley gripped her gun tighter, eyeing him with suspicion. He’d been staring at Thora nonstop from the start. What was his deal?
Jealousy bubbled up. She yanked Thora closer, linking arms with her in an overly cozy way.
“Thora, that guy is clearly trouble. Just ignore him.”
Maybe Thora was used to Shirley’s closeness, because she didn’t feel awkward at all.
Seeing Thora not resist, Ashley smirked at Draven. “See that? Thora likes pretty women like me.”
She deliberately swayed her body, striking a seductive pose and even tossing Thora a flirtatious wink.
Thora was speechless.
When did she ever say that?
Feeling awkward, she pulled her arm free from Ashley’s grasp.
Draven’s eyes instantly filled with intense killing intent.
