The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 281

Chapter 281 The Standouts

Finished

The atmosphere felt a bit like Tristan and Shirley vying for Thora’s attention, except way more intense.

Luke adjusted his glasses, glancing first at the crocs in the pond, then back at the three of them.

Seriously? Still acting jealous right now?

Tristan had a point. Wherever Thora went, people noticed. Guys, girls-everyone was drawn to her.

Thora coldly withdrew her gaze from Draven and turned in the direction Luke had just scouted. Her tone was serious. “If we can’t get past either side, our only option is the pond.”

Luke blinked. “You mean fly over?”

The pond was full of crocs. Going straight through would definitely make them lunch.

Thora shot him a glance. “If you want, you can try.”

Luke flailed his hands. “No, no, Boss, let’s not do that.”

“We just ran out of the forest. This area is a jungle swamp. There’s nothing to use as a lever,” Ashley reminded them. She assumed Thora wanted to use some kind of lever to launch Luke across.

Luke, however, knew better. Thora planned to throw him with her own strength.

She’d practiced tossing him and Shirley around like dolls during training.

The thought of falling into the pond if he wasn’t thrown far enough made his face twitch. He adjusted his glasses nervously. “No … Boss means throw me over.”

Ashley was speechless.

Thora sized up the distance. “Too far. You’d land in the pond.”

Luke went quiet. Yep, she was serious.

“Then we’ll just-” Thora’s lips curved slightly. “Turn this pond into a croc barbecue.”

Everyone immediately eyed the electric fence nearby.

Well, that actually sounded kind of fun.

Half an hour later.

Roman was sitting cross-legged in the SUV, occasionally glancing in the rearview mirror. He raised an eyebrow. This year’s freshmen weren’t bad-lots were catching up.

Many candidates who had gotten lost were finally making progress.

At the front, two young men were clearly competing, constantly overtaking each other.

Chapter 281 The Standouts

“Wow, the standouts are actually from the eastern side,” Roman muttered in disbelief.

In past years, the highest dropout rate came from the eastern candidates.

By now, over 200 candidates had been eliminated.

Even though the test didn’t officially end, the elimination rate had basically been reached.

The finish line for the first-round test was visible at the far edge of the map.

The SUV stopped at the front. Roman opened the door, ready to greet the candidates who’d made it through.

But as soon as he turned around, he sensed something was off-someone was already waiting behind him!

Up in a huge tree, a teen dressed in black military gear sat cross-legged on a branch, voice cool. “You’re slow.”

She wasn’t alone. Nearby, a tall woman leaned back on a branch, hands behind her head, yawning as if she’d already taken a nap.

On the other side, a man with a half-silver mask leaned against a tree, one hand in his pocket. His face was hidden under the mask, looking half-asleep.
