The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 301

Chapter 301 You’ve Been Modified

Draven gave a small smile. “If I’m not sticking with you, who else am I supposed to follow?”

Thora studied him for a long moment, frowning. “Are you here to steal my map fragments?”

“No,” he answered immediately.

“Then do you have a death wish?” Thora’s tone turned icy.

Draven hesitated. “No.”

Thora was now convinced-this guy really wasn’t right in the mind.

Since she couldn’t shake him, she’d just need to be more alert. She shot him a cold look and turned to keep moving forward.

Draven stuck one hand in his pocket and followed her casually, as if he were out for a stroll, his eyes never leaving her back.

Over time, Thora got used to having that “shadow” behind her and ended up ignoring him altogether.

She compared her half-finished map and headed toward the edge of the island.

Along the way, she ran into a few groups of candidates. None of them was particularly difficult, and she handled them easily.

Draven didn’t intervene, but he’d chime in to point out the terrain. “The path on the left is clear. The right leads to a swamp.”

One simple line saved her time scouting and was essentially him sharing his map info with her.

With Thora’s memory and spatial sense, she quickly added the terrain Draven had memorized to her own

map.

Suddenly, both of them stopped in their tracks.

A glint of coldness flashed in Draven’s eyes.

At nearly the same moment, a figure darted out of the woods like a cheetah.

He moved so fast he seemed to cut through the air. He was coming right at them!

Thora and Draven both dodged to the sides, narrowly avoiding the attack.

A wave of recognition swept through Thora. This feels so familiar.

Before she could process it, the attacker pivoted and lunged for her again. “Hand over your number tag and I’ll let you live!”

Gray wolf power pulsed around him, and he drove his knife at her in vicious strikes.

He was fierce and relentless, every attack aiming to kill.

Thora didn’t fight back right away. She dodged, sizing him up, then tossed her backpack to the ground.

Then, with a spin, she drew her combat knife and slashed it toward his side!

Rip!

The sound of flesh tearing was sharp and jarring.

But instead of retreating, the guy was enraged. He gave up on Draven, putting all his fury on Thora.

His combat technique wasn’t top-tier, but his speed, strength, and stamina blew away any ordinary werewolf at their level.

Even when Thora sent him flying with a kick, he bounced right back. His ability to take a hit was unreal.

To avoid breaking the no-killing rule, Thora didn’t use her full wolf power. Normally, that kind of hit would’ve put down a regular werewolf. But he was unfazed.

This feels just like those artificial werewolves I fought in Astralis Empire.

Blue wolf power surged around Thora, and after a few close-range jabs, she had left several bloody cuts on him.

She twisted her wrist and slammed the hilt of her knife into his gut.

“Ah!”

The man screamed, doubled over, and collapsed on the ground. He clamped his hands over his stomach, no fight left in him.

A cold smile tugged at Thora’s lips as she bent down to grab her backpack.

Just then, the man’s head snapped up. He fixed her with a vengeful glare and flung his knife at her!

The silver blade whistled through the air, sparks flying.

Thora’s eyes narrowed. She was about to use her ability when a shadow swept over her.

Draven flashed forward, leaped into the air, and swept his leg across, kicking the knife right back!

Whoosh!

The knife flew straight back, burying itself in the attacker’s shoulder blade!

“Ah!”

With another scream, the man crashed to the ground, eyes still locked on Thora and Draven with hatred.
