The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 315

Chapter 315 Her Smile

For a moment, cheers rippled across the deck.

Sergio smiled, then brushed past Thora without another word.

Finished

Ashley followed, letting out a soft laugh as she glanced at Thora’s back before striding toward a corner, long legs moving with easy confidence.

Thora’s gaze flicked briefly over Ashley, then lifted to Draven standing near the top deck.

The sea breeze tousled the loose strands of hair across his forehead.

As if sensing her eyes on him, he turned slightly, the faintest curve touching his lips.

Their gazes met for a heartbeat in the air-then both looked away, eyes returning to the distant horizon.

Thora frowned slightly and headed back toward Tristan and the others.

The moment she returned, Shirley crowded in, barely containing herself. “Thora, what did Ashton say to you just now?”

She’d been dying of curiosity-she hadn’t caught a single word of their whispering.

Tristan, Luke, and Ryan all perked up as well, clearly just as eager.

The ship began to move, slowly pulling away from the island.

Any candidates who hadn’t boarded would be retrieved by academy personnel.

From the deck, they could still see Harvey and Ashton standing on the shore, watching the ship sail farther and farther away.

“Ashton said-” Thora began calmly.

Everyone leaned in at once, bracing for some big secret.

Then Thora’s mouth twitched. “He said if you guys had gotten eliminated too, he’d book out a bar and throw you a ‘welcoming party.”

“Tch!”

The response came in perfect unison. Immediately, the group launched into a merciless round of trash- talking Ashton.

Thora let out a soft chuckle, then quickly reined in her expression.

The ship picked up speed. The island shrank into a fist-sized dot, then vanished beyond the horizon.

“Ashton, do you think Boss and the others will make it into the academy?” Harvey said quietly, eyes fixed on where the ship had disappeared.

“What do you think?” Ashton replied with a faint smile.

Harvey didn’t answer-but Ashton already knew.

Finished

“It’s just a shame,” Harvey muttered. “If it weren’t for that woman…” The image of being completely overwhelmed by Ashley still sent a chill through him. Aside from Thora, she was the strongest person he’d ever faced.

“At least she wasn’t targeting us. We just crossed paths. If she had been, we probably wouldn’t have made it out alive,” Ashton said evenly.

Harvey shot him a suspicious look. “What did you tell Boss earlier?”

Ashton withdrew his gaze from the sea and looked at him. His lips moved silently, forming a few words without sound.

Harvey’s pupils snapped sharply. His expression hardened as he stared toward the distant ship, a heavy unease settling in his eyes.

Not long after, academy helicopters arrived over the island to retrieve the remaining candidates.

With the island’s surveillance system, locating those who hadn’t made it out was effortless.

Harvey and Ashton were taken aboard a helicopter and flown away, their journey with Blue Star Military Academy ending there.

On the ship.

Seabirds circled overhead, occasionally skimming the water and drawing the attention of the candidates on deck.

Shirley sat cross-legged by the railing, somehow having produced a slingshot. Every so often, she’d scoop up a pebble and snap it toward the birds.

What stunned everyone was her accuracy. She never missed. Every few shots, another bird splashed into the

sea.

The absurd hit rate quickly drew a crowd.

Some people figured she had to be a sniper or sharpshooter. A few even started handing her stones as “ammo,” eager to see how long the streak would last.

Sergio noticed too, a faint smile crossing his face. This year’s intake really did have an unusual number of

standouts.

“Shirley’s so bored she’s hunting birds now,” Luke said, sidling up to Thora just to stir trouble. “Boss, does this count as harming innocent life?”

Before the words had even finished leaving his mouth, Shirley swung the slingshot around and aimed straight at him.

That shut Luke up instantly and dove behind Tristan for cover.
