The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 327

Chapter 327 Still Pretending?

Thora frowned slightly and decided to pretend she hadn’t heard anything.

There was no way she could let Shirley in now.

Finished

Shirley knocked for a long while with no response. Thunder rumbled again. It scared her so badly that she finally squatted down by Thora’s door, hugged her teddy bear, and drifted off.

Inside, Thora looked at Draven, who was clutching her arm so tightly that it felt like he might dislocate it.

His face was buried against her chest, completely hidden. All she could feel was his trembling body and fear. Right now, he wasn’t aggressive at all.

It reminded her of the deserted island. He had also passed out from thunder back then.

Why was he so terrified of thunder?

She tried to push him off, but his grip was too strong. There was no way to get him free.

With no other choice, Thora knocked him out.

Even unconscious, he still clung to her like an octopus, impossible to shake off.

She had planned to kick him off the bed, but when she saw his face-so much like Darius’s, twisted in pain -she gave up.

It was the first time Thora had ever felt so frustrated.

She pulled over a blanket and covered herself.

Whatever. She’d deal with him when he woke up.

Staring at the ceiling, she grew thoughtful.

She wondered why Draven had shown up at Blue Star Military Academy as a freshman.

Even though she’d said it had nothing to do with her, her curiosity refused to stay quiet.

“Not me… not me…” Draven muttered, trapped in some nightmare.

He’d clearly been knocked out, yet fear still had him awake, buried deep in his mind.

Thora raised her hand and knocked him out again.

Draven finally settled down, though his body still twitched now and then.

Outside, the thunder slowly faded, but the rain got heavier.

Draven still clung to Thora, like someone holding onto the only piece of driftwood in a vast sea, refusing to let go.

Lightning cut through the night sky, illuminating another room where Ashley sat by the window.

Her knees were drawn up. One hand held a mug of hot coffee while the other flipped through a thick Bible.

The only sound in the room was the soft rustle of turning pages.

Rain splashed in through a crack in the window, hitting her face. She shifted uncomfortably, then lifted a hand to her collarbone.

Suddenly, a layer of skin-like flesh peeled back. Along with it, the entire fake face was peeled away.

The human-skin mask was tossed aside.

In the wall’s reflection, Ashley’s Adam’s apple was clearly visible, distinctly masculine.

“Next time, I’ll need to improve it a bit more.”

The voice was unmistakably male.

The next morning.

After two days off at the seaside hotel, the third round of testing began.

Everyone got up early, stretching and warming up.

Ryan went downstairs for a drink. Passing Thora’s door, he noticed Shirley curled up asleep outside it.

“Shirley! Shirley!” he called twice.

Hugging her teddy bear, Shirley mumbled something, rolled over, and went right back to sleep.

Ryan was genuinely impressed. She could sleep that soundly anywhere.

“Hey! Wake up!” he shouted again.

Luke happened to come out just then and saw the scene. “Why’s Shirley sleeping outside Boss’s door?”

“Who knows? I can’t wake her up,” Ryan said helplessly.

Luke adjusted his glasses and stepped forward, saying flatly, “Shirley, someone stole your candy.”

Shirley’s eyes shot open. “Where?! Who was it? Was it Tristan?!”

Ryan froze for a second, silently amazed at Luke’s trick.

“Go ask him,” Luke said, lying straight-faced.

Shirley jumped up, still half-asleep but suddenly full of energy. “That jerk Tristan!”

She cursed under her breath and stormed off to look for him.

Ryan was still processing it when Luke shrugged and walked away. “If you ever join our team, you’ll get it.” Then he went back to packing for the test.

Still, Luke felt odd. Thora was always up early. Why hadn’t she gotten up today?
