The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 59

**Shadows Hearts by Joseph King**
**Chapter 59: Rexford Empire**

In a world filled with tension and intrigue, Thora awoke to the dawn of a new day, her mind still lingering on the unsettling news from the previous night. Greywolf, the notorious international mercenary group, had made its entrance into Starlance City. Yet, she brushed it aside with a wave of indifference. After all, such matters were typically the domain of the Astralis Empire’s military and their adept forces. Why should she burden herself with worries that weren’t hers to carry?

As the sun began to rise, casting a warm golden hue across her room, Thora prepared for her daily routine. She was always an early riser, eager to embrace the day and the challenges it might bring, especially those awaiting her at the academy.

Upon opening her door, she was greeted by a familiar sight—Felix stood there, leaning casually against the wall, a smile illuminating his handsome features.

“Felix?” she queried, a hint of surprise in her voice.

“Morning, Thora,” he replied, his smile widening as he stepped closer, lowering his voice conspiratorially. “You won’t believe what’s been happening at home. Dad got called out on some kind of mission. He left before dawn, and Hazel is already off to school too.”

Thora felt a flicker of concern in her chest. Norman, her father, was a colonel in the Astralis Empire, and if the military had deemed it necessary to involve him in dealing with Greywolf, then the situation must be serious.

“Felix, are you heading downstairs?” she asked, trying to shake off the unsettling thoughts.

“Yeah, I’ll wait for you down there,” he replied, already turning to dash down the stairs, his footsteps echoing in the quiet morning air.

As she listened to him bound away, Thora’s ears perked up. Wait a minute—had Felix added more weight to his training gear? That kid was really pushing himself. A smile crept onto her face. Good for him!

Her gaze drifted to the silver bracelet adorning her wrist. It was a simple piece of jewelry, unassuming and elegant, yet it held a secret—its true nature as a weapon was known only to her. The way it blended seamlessly into her everyday life was a testament to Darius’s brilliance.

How could one person possess such genius? He had single-handedly secured a military contract that made even the most powerful figures in the Astralis Empire take notice.

As Thora and Felix made their way to school, their pace was quickened by the added weights they had chosen for their training. Yet, despite the extra burden, their speed remained undiminished.

“Thora, what’s caught your eye?” Felix asked, noticing her distracted demeanor.

“Nothing,” she replied, her mind still racing with thoughts of the Sentinel System and its capabilities. She was keen to test its detection range, to see how well it could pick up on potential threats.
