I had just closed my eyes when I heard a sugary sob coming from downstairs. “Dad, you have to stand up for me! Thora’s trying to hurt me!” Hazel cried.

“Ridiculous! How dare she!” Norman shouted.

“Norman, look at Hazel-she’s terrified because of Thora. At Astralis College, Thora didn’t even protect her. Instead, she bullied her! You can’t just ignore this!” Laurel added.

I let out a quiet laugh. Same old trick-twisting things until they seem worse. Not even creative.

In their eyes, I, the weak one, should protect Hazel, who had already awakened her wolf spirit. What a joke.

Norman clearly favored Hazel. He barked, “Judy, go get Thora down here!”

I walked onto the stairs, my voice calm. “No need. I’m here.”

It was dinner time, so I went straight to the dining room.

Everyone’s eyes turned to me at once.

I ignored them and started eating.

Pan-seared venison-one of my favorites.

“Thora, why are you acting like that? You see your parents and don’t even say hi? And you just start eating?” Norman scolded. I frowned in irritation.

Looks like it’s time to move out from this house.

I don’t care what the pack thinks, but this same old drama is tiring.

Felix came down with me, ignored everyone else, too, and sat across from me.

He even cut the thickest piece of venison and put it on my plate.

I didn’t hold back and said, “You’re still growing. Eat more.”

“Okay,” Felix said with a nod.

Our easy conversation finally made everyone else upset.

I gave Hazel a sharp look just as she tried to start her act again.

The moment she met my eyes, she shrank back, too scared to say another word.
