Chapter 99 A House of My Own

Thora’s POV:

Finished

“Boss, sorry about that. The place I found earlier got taken. But my friend recommended a better one. I’ll take you for a house viewing.”

Harvey said those words while driving, sounding a little guilty.

I nodded, not exactly bothered about it.

As long as I found a place I liked during my short break from Astralis College, I didn’t care how many I had to look at.

Somehow, I didn’t even notice when Harvey started calling me Boss so naturally.

The car finally stopped in front of a luxury villa.

Someone was already waiting for us. After confirming Harvey’s identity, the realtor led us straight inside for

a tour.

I glanced around. The street outside looked a little familiar, but I couldn’t remember why.

I followed the realtor into the house, listening as he introduced each room.

The villa faced south, had great sunlight, and had a garden wrapped around the entire house. It was peaceful, private, and fully furnished. I could move in right away.

Most importantly, this house wasn’t inside any pack’s territory. It was exactly what I wanted.

“What’s the price?” I asked directly.

I estimated a place like this had to be at least ten million dollars. But the realtor held up two fingers. “Since you’re a friend of Mr. Vasil, we got the order to give you a discount. 2 million dollars.”

I raised a brow. Even Harvey gasped in shock, “2 million?! If there are more places like this, get one for me too!”

The realtor gave Harvey a glance and replied seriously, “Mr. Vasil, if you buy this house, the price goes back to full, 125% of the original price.”

Harvey exploded, “What?! Why?! Aren’t we getting a discount because of me?”

The realtor cleared his throat. “Well, I guess we shouldn’t mix feelings with money.”

I frowned. Strange logic, but it made sense.

“Alright. I’ll take it,” I decided right away.

“Very well, sir! I’ll handle the paperwork right away.”

I was used to people mistaking my gender. I didn’t bother correcting him.

Chapter 99 A House of My Own

Finished

After we finished all the documents, Harvey and I split up. I planned to go home and grab a few things

But Harvey refused to leave. He even called Ashton to help me move.

I told him several times I was only picking up a few small items. He finally gave up.

Before leaving, he reminded me again, very seriously. “When you finish moving in, tell me. We need to celebrate this properly.”

I smiled and nodded, “Okay.”

Right after I finished moving into my new place, I knew it was time to talk to them.

Now that my core team was finally complete, everything needed to move into the next stage.

But before that, I lifted my head and looked at the sky.

The people watching me-it’s about time they showed themselves.

I didn’t expect that the moment I thought it, it came true.

“Ms. Green, Chief Stanton would like to see you.”

I had just gotten into my car, ready to head home, when two tall, muscular young men in plain clothes stepped in front of my car.

Their arrogant attitude annoyed me. “If he wants to see me, he can ask properly. If I said yes easily, doesn’t that make me look bad? Move.”

My voice was cold.

The duo stayed right where they were, their faces turning dark. “Chief Stanton told us to invite you. He didn’t say we can’t use certain … other methods.”

I raised a brow. “Oh? Is that a threat?”

I could tell right away these people came from remarkable backgrounds.

They couldn’t hide their fierce aura, and I spotted the faint special forces badge showing near their collars. These two were special-forces soldiers pretending to be civilian’s.

“Ms. Green, you can take it that way,” one of them said as he reached toward his belt.

I gave a half-smile and stepped on the gas. The engine roared loudly.

Both men paled. Their hands pressed to their belts at the same time; something bulky was hidden there. Their body tensed as they prepared to fight.

But then I pulled out the key and shut off the engine.
