“Okay.” I nodded. Soon after Jace entered the guest room, the doorbell rang

Thinking it was a delivery. I went for answer it, wearing my apron.

Opening the door, I saw Lucian.

My smile vanished; I slammed the door shut. Lucian quickly pressed his hand against the door

‘Lucian, you’re not welcome here. Go away. I wasn’t being tactful; I coldly asked him to leave.

‘Really? Then who is welcome in your place?”

Lucian stared at me, his eyes colder and more severe. Suddenly, he exerted force, pushing his way inside.

His force pushed me staggering back. Before I fell, he caught me around my waist.

“Let go!” Once I was steady, I struggled.

Lucian ignored me, closing the door. He turned, pressing me against it, gripping my chin, and kissing me possessively.

His lips were hard against mine.

I groaned. I struggled, resisted fiercely, but it was useless.

The harder I fought, the harder he kissed.

The kiss deepened, stealing my breath, weakening my legs until I couldn’t resist.

The noise in the living room alerted Jace, who was in the guest room.

He came out to see Lucian assaulting me.

Jace had long been dissatisfied with Lucian. Over the past five years, he’d wanted to beat him up more than once.

As Lucian was my ex–lover, Jace couldn’t bear to see me in this predicament, so he held back.

But now, he couldn’t control himself.

Over these years, Aurora and I had suffered because of Lucian.

He still remembered, a few days ago, Aurora said cheerfully, “Jace, I’m so happy! Daddy fianlly said he would take me to the playground. Just me and Daddy.”

Aurora had been so excited, looking forward to it.

But what had Lucian done?

At that thought, Jace’s eyes reddened. He took a few strides, grabbing Lucian by his collar and pulled him away from me. Then he punched Lucian hard in the face.
