Chapter 135 A Humbling Arrival
Joanna was slightly surprised. She’d assumed Katherine would stay back on Chromatic Star to attend the banquets before coming.
So she slowed her pace and waited for her. At that moment, her communicator chimed twice.
“You have entered the jurisdiction of the Divine and Demonic Training Program. An AI guide is being automatically downloaded. Are the two of you together? Would you like a joint briefing?”
A luminous AI sprite drifted into view, hovering in midair.
“Yes! Together!” Katherine answered immediately.
The AI sprite responded cheerfully. “Acknowledged.
“You’ve both come straight here after the trial and likely require rest. We have assigned individual quarters for
quarters for every candidate.
“The current total enrollment for the Program is 132,970. Available accommodations include villas, solarium suites, high-rise sectors, and residential towers.
“Villas: 200 units, housing 200 individuals.
“Solarium suites: 200 buildings, five units per building. Two residences per unit, five stories. Total capacity: 10,000.
“High-rise sectors: 200 buildings, three units per building, two residences per unit, 30 stories. Total capacity: 36,000.
“Residential towers: 100 buildings, 100 stories, 20 residences per floor. Total capacity: 200,000. This is sufficient for all enrolled students.
“Each residence requires academic credits to purchase.
“Your credits not only represent the resources you can access but also determine your ranking within the program. The program employs a progressive elimination system. Students whose credit scores fall too low will be gradually removed.”
Joanna checked her own score.
30.281 credits.
“How are these credits calculated?” Joanna asked.
“SSS-rank applicants automatically receive 30 base credits. SS-rank receives 20. S-rank receives

Therefore, Katherine’s score was:
SS-Rank Talent: 20 credits. SAT Rank 2: +9 credits. Star Domain Rank 6: +5 credits. SAT decimal score: .281. Total: 34.281 Credits.
Four points higher than Joanna’s.
A sinking feeling formed in Joanna’s gut, but she had to ask. “What is my current rank?”
“Rank: 132,969.”
Joanna’s vision swam for a second.
Second from the bottom.
She didn’t even need to ask who ranked last.
Salem.
Salem was SS-Rank (20 credits), 33rd in the SAT (no bonus), and third in the Star Domain Battle (+8 credits). Her final score would be around 28.xx.
A full two credits lower than Joanna.
As for the others in the Star Domain rankings… Rank 10, Axel Ziegler, somehow had more credits than Joanna. He was almost certainly the top scorer of his home world.
Rank 9, Dominic Lawhon, had to be at least second place back home.
Rank 8, Taylor Pierce, likely placed top three.
Those ranked seventh and above were the ones who’d paid to join Joanna’s squad in the final round. They weren’t short on resources, so their scores wouldn’t be low. And Ivan was SSS-rank, so an automatic 30 credits.
Joanna had earned the deeply ironic honor of second-to-last place.
Pushing down a wave of incredulity, Joanna pressed on with the most important question. “How do we earn more credits?”
The AI continued brightly. “I have a detailed list for you. Please review.”

A comprehensive breakdown of credit-earning activities appeared.
The very first entry read:
“For every 100 points gained across all attributes, earn 1 credit. (Note: Upon enrollment, the system recalculates all attributes. Attribute points gained prior to admission were already counted toward SAT scoring and will not generate additional credits.)”
Increasing attributes was, in fact, the easiest way to earn credits.
