Chapter 15 Cost of a Guide
“Joanna is live now.” A notification came in.
Bruce only followed one streamer-Joanna.

He opened his communicator. A 3D projection immediately appeared, adjusting to the room and showing a life-sized video of the stream.
Everyone in the living room immediately looked over. When they heard Joanna say that she had left the team, their expressions turned awkward and looked pissed.
Why did she have to talk about it online?
Was she really not planning to come back?
The aroma of food drifted over from the screen.
“All of you have the first try!” Joanna said.
The Space Alliance communicator came with a scent system. The smell of food could be sensed through the screen. This familiar fragrance was something they used to smell every day. Now, it felt especially tempting.
Rhoda widened her eyes and her nostrils twitching uncontrollably.
It smells so good!
How can it smell this good?
What an amazing life the four teammates had been living before!
She swallowed hard and her stomach growled at the same time.
After returning from the Dungeon Plaza, they had spent two hours checking guides. Now it was already night and was time for dinner.
Rhoda couldn’t help asking, “Should we go to the cafeteria?”
Lucas held himself back and didn’t curse out loud.
In fact, Joanna had been right this afternoon.
Now that she was gone, if they spent all their money on food, how much would they have left?
He looked at the 200,000 Starcoins left in the account. He had originally planned to buy himself a bronze gauntlet.
If they kept eating like they used to, all the money would be gone in four days.
Of course, he couldn’t admit he was out of money.
He darkened his face and said coldly, “The cafeteria food is trash anyway. Let’s just have some nutritional

bars!”

He quickly bought some nutritional bars made by beginner chefs from the market. The yellowish bars were the cheapest because they didn’t have any coloring. They were only 5 Starcoins each. With their appetites, 10 bars each would fill them up.
He tossed down a pile of nutrition bars. As if afraid his teammates would complain, Lucas immediately left the living room and went back to his bedroom.
Since he was acting so angry, Rhoda didn’t dare to complain.
She was actually a bit scared.
Sure enough, when you can’t solve a problem, pretending to be angry is a perfect way to avoid- responsibility.
Rhoda didn’t think too deeply about it. She only thought that her suggestion to eat at the cafeteria, combined with Joanna eating a feast on the stream, had made Lucas angry. So she silently picked up a nutrition bar and started eating.
It was brown-yellowish in color. The texture was soft, like eating some shit. Thankfully, it didn’t taste like it. It tasted like watery oatmeal with veggies.
It was truly gross.
Just then, in the livestream, Joanna showed off her red wine.
The teammates sat up straight.
Even Rhoda widened her eyes. An unbelievable thought appeared in her mind.
“She cleared the Desolate Castle.”
The moment the thought formed, a loud bang came from beside her.
Cedric stood up and kicked the coffee table. The nutrition bars scattered all over the floor. Luckily, even though he had put all his points into his mind points, his strength was only five points, which was about the same as an ordinary person. The table only shifted. It didn’t break.
“Joanna said she didn’t have a guide? Then where did this red wine come from? She even knows where the wine cellar is.”
Two hours ago, after the team returned to the villa, they decided to find a strategy on their own.
But once they actually started searching, they realized how bad the situation was.
“Latest Complete Guide for Desolate Castle: 100,000 Starcoins.”
“Full Map of Desolate Castle, including hidden cellar entrance: 200,000 Starcoins.”
“Desolate Castle Monster and Boss Combat Guide: 400,000 Starcoins.”
Why do guides cost money?
