Chapter 165 The Unexplored Gate
Any dimension that had not been fully explored was dangerous.
That was the real reason Joanna had bought the cloaks.
Staying low was always safer. If they ran into intelligent humans who could communicate, Joanna could easily claim they were part of a mysterious organization.
She handed the black cloaks to Nighthowl and the others. At that moment, another group appeared near the summoning circle. One of them was Ivan.
He watched Joanna’s actions and frowned slightly. He found it strange.
“What are all these for?”
Joanna explained her reasoning.
Ivan let out a bitter laugh. “I thought I failed as a leader because I didn’t think enough in a dungeon run. But now I see it clearly. Even for a public dungeon, I still wasn’t prepared enough. Maybe I’m not fit to be a captain.”
Still, everyone knew one thing. Ivan was an excellent tank.
After that, the group finished buying everything they needed.
The destination was a place with no shared network access. Once inside, they could only trade with local professionals from that dimension. They could not contact professionals from their home dimension.
So it was better to overprepare. Better safe than trapped.
Word spread fast. One person told ten. Ten told a hundred. Everyone who planned to enter that plane bought a black cloak. Without meaning to, they formed a whole faction.
Joanna hadn’t expected that. After sharing her plan, she was the first to step into the teleport portal.

“Do you wish to travel to Plane No. 138967? Temporary Name: Spectral Threshold Gate of Hell. Upon entry, you will gain 1 Divine and Demonic Academy Credit per hour.”
“Yes.”
The teleport took longer than usual.
The moment she arrived, Joanna locked onto the portal’s location. Then she checked on the support professional wearing blue-and-white robes-the teleporter.
This person was critical. If the teleporter died, they would be trapped here forever. Joanna could not afford to miss her academy enrollment.
Nearby were members of the Space Alliance frontline unit. Their outfits were easy to spot-standard camouflage transmog gear. They were laying down ground tiles.
The ground gleamed with gold. It was solid gold bricks.
They had laid out a square about 100 feet on each side.
At the edges, golden lines were stretched. Nets and golden chains followed as they began building a safe zone.
That was when Joanna heard noise. Drums. Horns. Metallic clanging. In the empty wilderness, a strange procession appeared. A group dressed in black and red marched forward, carrying a bridal palanquin. At the center was a bride in bright red ceremonial clothing. It looked like an ancient-style wedding procession.
But something was wrong. They were far too fast. When Joanna first heard the sound, they were still over 300 feet away. In the blink of an eye, they were right in front of them-clearly targeting the group.
“Prepare for battle!”
“Leave a team to finish the gold net. Move!”
“Are the reinforcements here yet? You four-oh, the ones in black cloaks-go help!”
With the cloaks on, no one could tell their classes. The frontline unit could only give rough orders.

But Joanna had another idea.
If her Affinity became too strong, it might affect other people. Could she turn this passive Affinity field into an active release, similar to Charm Strength?
She kept thinking.
By nightfall, she had her answer.
Joanna spent 10 billion Starcoins and 1,000 credits in exchange for a Legendary- tier Talent Upgrade Stone.
The item was delivered directly to her in-game mailbox through the Space Alliance Personal Auction System. She retrieved it and used it immediately, clearly planning her future growth path.
The system notification appeared at once.
“Your Affinity (S-Rank Talent) has been upgraded to (SS-Rank Talent).
“Affinity (SS-Rank Talent):
“Effect 1: For every monster defeated, gain 0.1 Affinity Aura.
“Effect 2: Actively release Affinity Aura to allow a target to sense your Affinity.
“Note 1: Affinity Aura is not externally visible.
“Note 2: You have mastered “Allure Control.” When used together with Affinity Aura, the effect is enhanced.”
The description was short. Compared to Fair Trade (SSS-Rank), it looked almost weak.
But this talent had no drawbacks. It didn’t harm her, had no weaknesses, and boosted her overall power significantly.
Most importantly, the grind was reduced by ten times.
Before, she had to defeat 100 monsters to gain 1 point of Affinity.
