Chapter 186 The Hunters Arrive
“The criminals chasing her are almost here. Both are above Level 40. One of them is a pastor with healing skills. They are serious offenders, but not death-row inmates, so their gear and storage space remain untouched. They still have many hidden tricks.”
“Look. Contact.”
Inside the dungeon, Joanna sensed danger ahead. This time, the enemies were very strong.
“Get ready to fight,” she said calmly. “Don’t hold back.”
As soon as she spoke, a roar came from the front.
“Joanna! Die!”
A Level 40 warrior burst forward. His power exploded as a massive blade wave rushed toward them. His skill control was frighteningly precise. Even in the tight space of a dungeon, he used it with ease.
Nighthowl cast Lunar Aegis, covering Joanna. Sje mirrored the move and extended the shield to all three of her contracted beasts. The blade wave slammed into the barrier but failed to break it.
“Where did this bug crawl out from?” Lucien snapped. “He’s asking for trouble.”
He swung his broad sword. A violent windstorm erupted. Wind Blades, Wind Barrier, and Punishment of Destruction struck at once.
Behind David, Irene instantly raised a shield. It blocked the attack, but cracks spread fast. She had to keep reinforcing it.
“David!” she cried.
Joanna froze.
She recognized them.
In that instant, everything became clear.
So the academy actually gone this far.
Because of the old grudges between her, David, and Irene, the academy had sent them here- forcing Joanna to deal with them herself.
It wasn’t just training her to kill.
It was also cutting off future threats.
They wanted the job finished, with no threat left behind.
Of course, David and Irene could have refused. They could have chosen to sit in prison for 200
years.
But clearly, they chose to fight to the death.
“Why?” Joanna’s eyes turned cold, filled with killing intent.
She would never pity someone who had once tried to destroy her life. If she had the chance, she would kill them first. Back then, David and Irene had wanted her dead. They had pushed her into a corner.
At that time, she was too weak. She had to rely on Maverick to force them into custody.
Now, she wanted to end it in her own way.
“Kill.”
Joanna moved at the same time.
Lash Purgatory.

Their levels were high, and their minds were strong. They stayed inside the skill for five minutes of soul time. In the real world, less than a tenth of a second passed.
Even so, the pain in their minds slowed them down. Nighthowl, Alwyn, and Lucien struck at
once.
Joanna focused on Irene.
In a fight, you take down the healer first.
Irene’s Level 40 healing power was terrifying. Her wounds closed fast. Shield after shield formed in front of her. But when Lucien’s Punishment of Destruction hit, new cuts kept opening across her body.
“No, this can’t be real,” Irene said. Her eyes filled with panic. “How are you this strong?”
If this kept going, she had a feeling she would died. Her wounds would not heal. Their skills were stronger than hers.
“Honey, fall back!” Irene shouted. “Find other criminals. Attack together!”
David obeyed at once. He turned, grabbed Irene, and ran.
They had a dungeon map. That was their advantage.

Inside the Bloodmoon Grand Hall, several people stared in shock.
Joanna had grown stronger. Again.
They already knew her mythic beasts could challenge Level 50 bosses during the Star Domain Battle. But fighting monsters was not the same as fighting professionals.
Professionals could block. They could defend. They could run when things went wrong. Yet Joanna had just forced a Level 40 warrior and a pastor to flee in panic.
“Pathetic,” Viola sneered.
“Let’s help them,” she said with a cold smile.
Viola activated the strange circle.
