The Battle Queen They Blindly Kicked Out (Joanna) novel Chapter 24

Chapter 24 Want to Ride

Joanna spun around and dove back into the dungeon.

She left Maverick and Jacob standing there. Maverick even wondered if he’d heard right.

“So, no break? She’s grinding straight through until noon?” He laughed at the thought. “Ah, youth is really something. Jacob, you’ve got one month left. Keep her on track and don’t mess anything up. Do I need to spell it out?”

Cold sweat poured down Jacob’s face again.

“No, I get it. Joanna’s former teammates slipped up, but they’re still S-rank. This time, I’ll definitely smooth things over. I won’t do anything like expelling them. We’ll keep everything stable until the SAT is done.”

Maverick shot him a sideways look, snorted, and left.

Once Maverick was gone, Jacob felt utterly miserable.

“With Joanna’s dungeon skills, first place in the monthly exam is easy. The only question is how she’ll deal with her former teammates. What if she pushes all of them into getting expelled? If one stays and four leave, what am I supposed to do?”

Why did Drake even expel Joanna before?

Because everyone thought the core Dawnbreaker team was Lucas, Cedric, Bruce, and Neil.

They thought Joanna had just been an accessory-a pretty decoration.

Kicking her out and bringing in Rhoda should’ve improved things.

But now?

Joanna was back with full force, but expelling her former teammates wasn’t an option.

Could he even keep his job as principal then?

For a moment, he swore his thinning hair got even thinner.

Desolate Castle Dungeon.

Joanna couldn’t stop staring at the whip in her hands.

It was the Cardinal’s Edict, a six-foot-long Silver-tier weapon.

The whip itself was woven from red leather, the handle gleaming gold, with different gemstones embedded at the tip. It looked incredibly luxurious.

Its three special effects were excellent too.

Enhanced Pain caused monsters to feel intense pain, naturally triggering stiffness, retreat, and fear.

Entangling Restraint allowed the whip to bind enemies, applying restraint and immobilization effects.

The Edict of Faith was specifically for summoned beasts.

“Nighthowl, relax. I don’t have any skills that hit my summon. No whipping-I’ll just kiss you!”

Joanna rubbed his head and kissed the top.

Then she took out Jacob’s peace offering-four pieces of equipment meant for summoned beasts-and put them on Nighthowl.

Nighthowl was getting bigger and ridiculously impressive.

With the collar, armor, claw guards, and helmet equipped, he looked even more imposing.

“Let’s go. After four more dungeon runs, I feel like you’ll level up again. Oh, and once you get bigger, can you be a mount? I’m not saying I want to ride you. It’s just that I’m slower than you. If we ever need to escape, I can hide on your back. Got it?”

That was a lie. She definitely wanted to ride him.

Who wouldn’t want to ride a giant wolf?

Joanna kept glancing at the armor.

It was technically for beasts, but since most beasts could carry people, it looked pretty much like a saddle

now.

Sure, she already had the Crimson Throne, but riding a huge wolf and sitting on a throne were completely different experiences.

She just didn’t know if Nighthowl would agree.

A spark of amusement lit up Nighthowl’s eyes.

His contractor clearly wanted to ride him.

And did she like him to grow bigger?

Then he’d grow as fast as possible.

After that, they worked together more smoothly, looting as efficiently as possible to save time.

Dungeon after dungeon was cleared.

On the last run, Nighthowl finally hit Level 4.

His body expanded again.

His back now reached Joanna’s shoulders. When he sat and lifted his head, he towered over her like a huge, fluffy Tibetan mastiff.

Walking beside Joanna, he radiated pure intimidation.
