The Battle Queen They Blindly Kicked Out (Joanna) novel Chapter 257

Chapter 257 The New Order

A wave of sheer extravagance left the Public Relations Club members staring in a daze.

Divine and Demonic Academy students were already elites of the universe and were financially independent.

Still, resources across the galaxy were taken by force, and the food supply could never be truly perfect.

Even things that Helen’s contracted beasts considered good weren’t luxury items per se, but they were definitely budget killers-insanely.

And this was just Joanna’s everyday life.

Joanna took a light sip of her coffee, her movements effortlessly elegant and relaxed.

“Today is my first day as Public Relations Club president. There are many things to handle, and I’ll need assistance. I need a secretary.”

Her gaze swept the room before settling on George.

George’s heart jolted. Inspiration struck, and he spoke immediately, “Ms. Lane, Ms. Armstrong used to have countless engagements, shooting ads and endorsements. Most of the club’s work was handled by me anyway.

“And since Ms. Armstrong is in her senior year, she needs to focus on internships and evaluations. She doesn’t really have the time or energy for the Public Relations Club.

“I can take on the secretary role and help manage club affairs.”

Joanna nodded.

“Good. You’ll do.”

George finally relaxed. His position was secure.

At that moment, he gained a bit of clarity.

What’s the point of good relationships with coworkers?

Whether you stay or not still comes down to a single word from the boss.

Sophie ground her teeth. “George stabbed people in the back during the election. That just gets ignored?”

Joanna replied calmly, “Elections are about using whatever means you have. The evil god statue’s modifier was Confusion. He wasn’t clear-headed at the time. The election’s over, and you won. You’re still vice president. Try being a little more generous.”

“Exactly, Ms. Vice President. I already said I was talking nonsense earlier. I attacked you because I was in a Confused State,” George admitted obediently.

Sophie was so angry that he was calling her “Ms. Vice President,” reminding her of her place.

The two had become outright rivals.

Joanna had no intention of expelling George from the Public Relations Club. That in itself was a form of balance.

Besides, George’s family background seemed solid and wealthy. Having him handle club affairs meant there would always be someone doing the work.

Joanna then had George brief everyone on the club’s plans and current tasks for the semester.

The Public Relations Club was Divine and Demonic Academy’s mouthpiece. Its main job was to build powerhouse IPs, highlight campus prodigies, showcase achievements, and promote breakthroughs by faculty.

Every year’s content was roughly the same.

A freshman becoming the first to reach Level 30.

A senior joining the Space Alliance General Assembly as a Starlord.

Someone breaking a record.

A professor making major progress on a project, and so on.

Each campaign was essentially the creation of a major IP.

Joanna gracefully set down her coffee, casually picked up a slice of cake, then frowned slightly. “Among this year’s freshmen, I was the first to reach Level 30 and complete a Mythic-level task with an SSS-rank evaluation. I don’t recall seeing any promotion about that.”

She had cleared the task more than ten days ago.

There had been some discussion on the forums, but nowhere near enough publicity.

As those words landed, Sophie’s expression turned extremely ugly.

When Joanna had wanted to join the Public Relations Club, Sophie had been the first to block her. Protecting her own position was only natural.

nished

Suppressing a freshman like Joanna had seemed completely normal.

She hadn’t expected Joanna to settle accounts afterward.

Even though Joanna didn’t openly target Sophie, from now on, the club’s resources would clearly tilt toward Joanna, giving her connections, influence, and endless benefits.

When one side rose, the other fell. Sophie was the one losing out.
