The Battle Queen They Blindly Kicked Out (Joanna) novel Chapter 302

Chapter 302 Favoritism

The lyre cost 600 billion Starcoins.

That was 20 percent of Joanna’s total savings.

Still, it was worth it.

Caspian’s skill set was insanely strong. He could lure monsters toward him. That meant faster mob clearing, faster XP gain, and faster loot farming.

This was not a place to cut costs.

As for everyone else’s gear, Joanna planned to hand it out slowly, but only after performance and confirmed contributions.

She was trying hard to stay fair. Balance buffs. Balance rewards. No favoritism officially.

… at least,

“Thank you, Joanna. I really love this gift.” Caspian’s eyes sparkled. A smile curved his lips as he gently ran his fingers over the lyre, clearly unable to put it down.

Then his gaze drifted across the others. From his sensory scan alone, he could tell none of their weapons matched this lyre.

This thing was insanely valuable.

There was no denying it. This was obvious favoritism.

Caspian smiled again. Those deep ocean-blue eyes locked onto Joanna.

“Joanna, you’ve been too good to me. You free me from that lonely planet. You purified my distortion. And now you gave me this gift. I don’t even know how to repay you. You saved my life. So, shouldn’t I give myself to you? You can do anything you want with me.”

He moved closer and dropped to one knee beside her. Caspian closed his eyes, like he was waiting for a kiss to land.

He looked unfairly beautiful like this.

Joanna reached out and patted his smooth blue hair. “We have a contract. We’re mates.”

Caspian’s eyes opened slightly. He looked disappointed.

“Then why won’t you kiss me? I saw it last night. You kissed Nighthowl. You even touched his abs. Why can’t I have that?”

On Caspian’s first day in the squad, Joanna stayed with him the whole time. After that, the Demon Invasion Public Mission happened.

After the battle, it was Nighthowl’s turn to stay with Joanna.

Caspian’s mental stat was crazy high. He had actually pierced through Nighthowl’s barrier and saw their interaction.

Now that he said it out loud, Joanna felt her face heat up.

Wow. She really was acting like a morally corrupted queen!

Only Lucien froze for a second. Then, he jumped up.

“Wait—what do you mean? Isn’t night duty supposed to be done in beast form? Nighthowl, you cheated! Why didn’t you transform?!”

Nighthowl raised one eyebrow.

Alwyn barely held back laughter.

Troy just looked confused.

Joanna’s heart dropped.

Oh no. I’d been caught lying to the innocent one.

But her eyes moved quickly. She suddenly gasped. “Wait-what?! The system just sent me another plot of land! The plains outside the Blackveil Mountains are ours now. Should we build a city?”

Nighthowl immediately went serious. He nodded and said, “That’s possible. I studied the Space Alliance governance system. Cities are self-ruled. They have high authority. Tax income is stable passive income.”

Alwyn nodded. “And we just won a major battle. Many refugees might choose our city for safety.”

Lucien thought, Huh? Are we talking about this just now? But he couldn’t butt in.

Caspian added, “Most people should recognize me. I can be the city’s public ambassador. People will come. When they hear my singing, their subconscious will want to get closer to me.”

Troy said simply, “Whatever Joanna decides, I support it.”

Everyone looked at Lucien, waiting for his stance.

They were a family, after all.

Lucien scratched his head. Something still felt weird. “Then I support it too.”

“Okay,” Joanna said decisively. “Then it’s settled.”

Joanna opened her system panel and checked her assets.

Besides Starcoins and Academy Credits, most of her value sat in land ownership on Dreamscape Star.

Before, she already owned about 770 square miles of Blackveil Mountain territory.

After stopping the Demon God crisis, the system granted her another land expansion.
