The second group was from Divine and Demonic Academy, plus the Hundred Schools Alliance -the prodigy team made up of students from top legendary universities.

The last group was made up of non-student workers. They were the strongest.

There were three divine spirits from the Myriad Races. One was from the Great Witch Race, like the headless one she just saw.

Another was from the Devourer Race, a beast that looked like a massive, hungry monster.

The last one was from the Snow Race. It looked like a giant bear made of wind and ice.

Francis Heavenpiercer was busy holding off the Devourer beast, while Helen was with the students and workers, trying to stop the Snow Race’s divine spirit.

The cultists had run away because they realized no one was going to protect them, but they didn’t expect the headless giant to chase them down.

Without strong fighters protecting them, they would be slaughtered sooner or later.

Running wasn’t better than staying and fighting.

Vincent’s ship had been flying for seven or eight hours. But using Astral Step, Joanna got back to the original battlefield in just five minutes.

The whole universe was frozen solid. It looked like an endless ice field.

There were countless ice sculptures everywhere. If you looked closely, they were all the bodies of powerful fighters.

Using Symbiotic Fusion, combined with her Starforged Physique and Eternal Sun, Joanna melted the thick ice around the bodies.

“Soul Drain!”

Streams of souls flew into Joanna’s Underworld.

She built a circle in the void.

She put in materials.

She placed the bodies inside.

Joanna began the resurrection of these powerful fighters.

“I’m alive!”

A Sage-tier fighter suddenly gasped and sat up. Then he sighed. “Man, we couldn’t stop the Myriad Races’ divine spirit. I bet only a few people will even make it to the Decennial Tournament this time.”

Sometimes, getting to the tournament was even harder than competing in it.

But right after he said that, he felt something was off. The air was still freezing cold. He looked up. They were still in a world of ice and snow. They were still inside the divine spirit’s domain.

They hadn’t returned to the Space Alliance.

“Sir, I brought you back. But it used up a lot of advanced materials. Do you have any you can chip in?”

Resurrection wasn’t free.

The Sage-tier expert got the hint.

He quickly handed over a batch of advanced materials.

Joanna didn’t keep them for herself. She used them to resurrect others.

So the newly revived ones were quickly told by the advanced professionals who had woken up earlier, “Joanna brought you back. She’s the top student prodigy of Divine and Demonic Academy. Hurry up and hand over some materials! You should be grateful. Plus, she’s not even keeping the stuff-she’s using it to resurrect others.

“Don’t make her work for free. Give more.”

“Why are you being so cheap? If you had to respawn back at the Space Alliance, you’d lose a whole level. Besides, our souls were frozen solid, If we waited for the Alliance to find us and put us in the respawn line, it would take over ten years!”

With everyone saying things like that, Joanna received more and more materials.

On top of that, this was a divine spirit’s battlefield.

The leftover energy in the area could turn into materials. The people following Joanna gathered those materials and gave them to her too.

She was loaded with materials now.

As they kept resurrecting people and moving forward, they finally got close to the center of the ice domain. At the very center, Helen and the others were still fighting the divine spirit.

Helen was the main force, with the remaining 20 or 30 Grandmaster-tier and Supreme Grandmaster-tier fighters barely hanging on to help her.

Helen’s level wasn’t high. She was young and didn’t have much combat experience. But her combat power was extremely strong.

Even so, she could only barely slow down the Snow Race’s divine spirit.

From the divine spirit’s perspective, it was like trying to swat a bunch of annoying mosquitoes. They were buzzing, but because they were so tiny and fast, they were hard to hit.

The divine spirit had to kill all these mosquitoes before she could move on and chase the humans heading back to the human territories.

When Joanna arrived, it just meant there was one more mosquito.

The longer they held the enemy back, the farther the main group could escape.

But they were worried. What if the main group ran into another divine spirit?

It felt like a dead end.

“Joanna, why did you come back?” Helen asked anxiously.

“Get out of here! Catch up with the main fleet. Don’t worry about me, I won’t die.”

“I won’t die either, Teacher!” Joanna replied. “I’ll help you hold it off. Maybe once Francis Heavenpiercer finishes his fight, he’ll come save us!”

Helen noticed Joanna’s strength had almost doubled. That made her feel better.

More importantly, Joanna could heal and use resurrection. That greatly increased everyone’s survival rate.

Even if they were just harassing the enemy, it helped.

They kept dying and coming back, wave after wave,

And just like that, they managed to hold back the Snow Race’s divine spirit for a full day.

One day later.

Francis Heavenpiercer still hadn’t returned.

But another group arrived. This time, it was a second team led by Mythic-level fighters.
