The Battle Queen They Blindly Kicked Out (Joanna) novel Chapter 40

Chapter 40 Miscalculated

Joanna left the dungeon.

Marcus and the others naturally saw the notifications.

“Your party member Grace has left the dungeon.”

“Your party member Derek has left the dungeon.”

“Your party member Shane has left the dungeon.”

“Your party member Joanna has left the dungeon.”

She actually left.

And Spider Lady in front of them only had 1% HP remaining.

The group immediately panicked.

“Captain Fuller, what do we do?”

“We fight! Do you even need to ask?”

They had two mages and an archer on the team. Could they really not finish off a spider with only 1% HP left?

The three of them started attacking, but Spider Lady scurried rapidly across the web until she reached a white cocoon. She tore it open and slurped.

The liquid inside flowed into her mouth, and her HP began recovering rapidly.

One minute later, Spider Lady’s HP went from 1% to 2%.

“No good! We can’t let her stay on the web. We need to destroy it and bring her down, or she’ll heal forever!” the archer shouted.

“Quick, burn the silk!”

The Spider Lady’s silk wasn’t easy to burn. Fortunately, both mages had fire spells. They kept casting at the threads until one finally burned through.

One strand snapped, and the web instantly contracted, shrinking by more than half.

But after burning the lower portion, a large section of the web still clung to the skyscraper above.

“We need to go up! Burn the ones at the top!”

The two mages split up and headed into the building, taking the elevator to the 60th floor to burn the remaining threads.

But they wasted a full six minutes. Spider Lady’s HP had already recovered to 13%.

“It’s fine. 13% is manageable. At our damage rate, we only need 13 minutes. I can hold her that long.”

Marcus steadied his nerves.

When the silk snapped, the Spider Lady plummeted from the web 60 stories up. Her massive body crashed down, triggering enormous fall damage.

That fall alone knocked off 10% of her HP.

Only 3% remained.

“Ha! Luck is on our side!”

“Three percent! Come on, follow me! Just three more minutes and she’s dead!”

Marcus charged forward.

Spider Lady’s enormous body was visually overwhelming for humans.

Besides, the archer and mages had attacked Spider Lady first. Marcus hadn’t had time to build aggro and draw her attention.

Splat!

A white web shot out, instantly engulfing the archer.

The archer was stuck.

A fire mage needed to come burn the silk off him, but both mages were still in the skyscraper riding the elevator down.

“Captain Fuller, save me!”

The archer screamed.

But Marcus was too slow. He couldn’t keep up with Spider Lady, couldn’t even get close enough

to taunt.

“No!”

Spider Lady rushed straight for the archer and instantly sprayed a mouthful of venom, dissolving him into a puddle of thick, bloody slime.

She crouched down and slurped the liquid into her body.

HP restored to 4%.

At that moment, Marcus finally managed to taunt Spider Lady. But her damage was terrifying. He could feel his health plummeting.

“Healer, heal harder!”

“I’m trying, Captain Fuller! I can’t keep up!”

“Four minutes! Just hold on for four minutes!”

Unfortunately, he had miscalculated. They had lost their archer. Killing the boss was no longer a four-minute job.

“Wait, there’s still one student who didn’t leave! Get your ass out here and help us fight, or we’re all dead!”

Marcus shouted into the party chat.

At that moment, Victor, who had been hiding inside the train station, struggled internally. Then he gritted his teeth and rushed out.

What if he landed the last hit? He was an assassin, after all. Stealing kills was his specialty.

But by the time he arrived, Marcus had already been skewered through the torso by the Spider Lady with a sickening squelch.

HP depleted!

The others couldn’t survive a single hit from Spider Lady.

The pastor went down.
