Chapter 459 Into the Dungeon

This was no ordinary dungeon. Crafted by the God of Sealed Realms himself, it dwarfed anything a typical array mage could make. Most arrayers, limited by their own power, could only produce small, low-level dungeons-places where monsters ran rampant and only a handful of challengers dared to enter.
But here, the team numbered ten thousand-each one a core member handpicked by the thirteen divine spirits. Saul brought his own disciples, and Joanna found herself in his squad.
Helen led the Nightstar Group, flanked by Haul, Katherine, several Sinclair sentinels, Cassian, Lorena, Vince, and others.
Everyone had brought their inner circle, their most trusted allies.
Together, they stepped into the dungeon.
“Your team leader has chosen to enter the Broodmother Nyssara Crisis (Mythic-tier) dungeon. Would you like to enter?”
“Enter.”
“Dungeon entered.”
A pulse of white light swallowed Joanna’s vision. For a moment, darkness pressed in, then the world brightened.
If not for the altered landscape and her knowledge of the dungeon, she might have believed she’d never moved at all.
They stood now upon the wild plains of Shark Star.
Above, the writhing white mass in the sky began to solidify.
It took the shape of a monstrous, squirming queen ant-an avatar of Nyssara.
Suddenly, thousands of eggs rained down, each hatching into a divine child-level Fang Imp.
Twelve boss-level monsters closed in at once, ringed by snapping jaws and glistening carapaces.
The battle exploded into chaos.
Every Mythic-tier human was a juggernaut, fluent in the ways of dungeon law.
But the twelve bosses had to be split apart. If they came together, their defenses grew impenetrable and their wounds healed in seconds.

Worse, they had to be felled simultaneously-or else they would rise again.
On paper, the mechanics sounded simple. In practice, handling twelve bosses at once was a nightmare.
Each divine spirit led eight hundred fighters, diving into the fray against the evil god’s children.
“The Eleventh Child is going down-push harder!”
“Get over here and help!”
“Wait! Three and Seven are together again-they’re regenerating!”
“Lock them down! Separate them!”
Joanna’s senses reeled in the tumult.
Instead of being swept along by the Mythic-tiers, she found herself frustrated by the chaos.
The more people involved, the more mistakes crept in.
Thank the stars Mythic-tier humans were so terrifyingly strong-and this dungeon, after all, was only a weakened fragment of Nyssara’s true power.
Joanna slipped through the mayhem, keeping careful track of each boss: their defenses, their health, their patterns of attack.
In her mind, a web of data took shape-a flawless plan for the kill.
She could do this.
At last, after seven grueling hours, all twelve bosses fell.
For a Mythic-tier dungeon, their speed was nothing short of miraculous.
But as the last divine child crumpled, Nyssara herself descended, tearing open the sky.
With a thunderous crash, the queen ant slammed into the earth-a mountain of writhing, pallid horror.
In truth, Joanna knew, Nyssara’s true form might be unknowable. The God of Sealed Realms had simply chosen this monstrous image for the dungeon.
A shimmering white halo swept across the battlefield.
Yet it did not burn or maim-instead, it seemed to sap the strength of those it touched.

Mythic-tier humans unleashed all their might, pouring attacks into the monstrous queen.
But Nyssara’s defenses and regeneration were monstrous-nearly insurmountable.
Suddenly, Haul cried out, panic in his voice.
“Lord Lane, something’s wrong! My level’s dropping!”
“What?”
Joanna spun to face him.
Haul had been level 56. In just ten minutes, he’d slipped to 55.
“This halo-can it actually drop your level?”
Joanna activated her Body of Enlightenment, analyzing the battlefield with a piercing gaze.
In seconds, she saw through the trick.
“No-it’s not your level. It’s your age. You’re getting younger. In ten minutes, you reverted to 21, and your level fell with it.”
Haul went pale.
“How do I stop it? If I go back to twenty, I’ll drop another ten levels! That’s the year I fought in the Tournament of Prodigies with you!”
“This is bad! Professor, retreat!” Joanna shouted.
Helen had only reached Mythic-tier two years ago.
If she lost another twenty minutes, she’d fall below Mythic.
Joanna relayed the findings. Helen immediately pulled back to the dungeon’s border.
Distance weakened the effect.
Those who’d only recently become Mythic-tier also retreated.
The true battle was now between the oldest, strongest Mythic-tiers and Nyssara herself.
The rest could only watch from afar.
Joanna poured everything she had into forbidden spells, hammering Nyssara with devastating damage.

Her specialty-Punishment of Destruction-was especially effective against monsters with rapid regeneration.
Yet, in the end, it was Lucien who turned the tide.
Suddenly, Joanna heard Nyssara’s voice resonate through the spirit realm.
“You are all my children. Offer me your flesh and blood!”
In an instant, some professionals were drained of life-wrung dry like sponges.
Joanna herself felt the pull, fierce and terrible.
But then, her Blackdrake Sword erupted with a surge of black light.
