“This is the shame of the Divine and Demonic Academy.

“The task I’m giving you now is to capture Morgan. If necessary, you are authorized to kill him.”
To Joanna, Morgan was an enemy.
To the Divine and Demonic Academy, he was an undercover agent and a traitor, so he was absolutely unforgivable.
“Professor, leave it to me!”
Joanna accepted the mission.
“System Alert: You have accepted a mission from Saul Reid, Principal of the Divine and Demonic Academy.
“Mission Objective: Capture the traitor Morgan Parker!
“Mission Reward: 1 trillion Starcoins.
“Click to view detailed mission information.”
Joanna found a detailed dossier and suddenly understood why Morgan had been impossible to locate.
Of course, where would one even find him?
Joanna thought for a moment and summoned a few contracted beasts.
“Nighthowl, Alwyn, Benjamin, you’re coming with me on this mission. The rest stay behind and continue running dungeons.”
“Understood!”
“Yes!”
“Right away, Ms. Lane.”
The three gathered close around Joanna.
Just to be safe, Joanna purchased some essential items.
Teleportation circle materials, Holy Light charms, and potions for mental resistance.

With everything prepared, Joanna led her three beasts through an Astral Step.
She strained slightly to open a spatial gate.
This was the Divine Battlefield.
Going there via a teleportation circle would have been too cumbersome.

Fortunately, she was nearly level 80 now, and her power had grown substantially. With her high attributes, even a special plane like the battlefield could be reached through Astral Step.
She arrived at Ant City.
The number of people on the battlefield hadn’t decreased. In fact, it had grown. But upon closer inspection, the biggest difference compared to her last visit years ago was the level of the professionals.
Their levels were lower.
This meant the battlefield’s threat had begun to decline.
After the Decennial Tournament, evil gods avoided this area. So, the contamination here wasn’t severe, and monsters were fewer.
Following her coordinates, Joanna used spatial traversal again. This time, moving within the same plane was much easier.
Then, she reached her destination and went in. It was an underground cavern.
Twisting and turning through corridors, Joanna finally found a hidden door.
She stood at the entrance as a beam scanned her entire body.
“Target authorized. Lock opened.”.
The door swung open.
Soldiers on both sides saluted Joanna.
These were the garrison troops.
“Greetings, Ms. Lane. You now have access. Proceed straight ahead to reach the portal.”
“Thanks!”
Joanna advanced about 300 feet or so, coming to a cave.

The cave had clearly been modified. At its center was an irregular spatial rift, flanked by stabilization arrays.
The arrays only maintained the rift-they neither enlarged nor shrank it.
This rift led to the continent where Morgan was currently located.

Such a spatial passage required physical traversal; consciousness-based teleportation would not work.
Joanna stepped forward. The moment she crossed, it felt like moving through thick rubber, being squeezed through.
The surrounding environment changed.
Clouds hung heavy and dark, shrouded in black mist, like a storm overhead.
At her appearance, the soil sensed living presence and shifted, cracking underfoot.
Then, skeletons rose from the ground and lunged at Joanna.
She merely glanced at them. Then, a spectral whip lashed out, smashing down on a skeleton’s skull.
Crack!
The green soul fire in its eye sockets exploded, shattering the bones.
Its soul fire, struck by the Spirit Lash, lost control over the corpse.
Yet the green flames tried to spread across Joanna. Then, a layer of radiant light stopped it.
It was Lunar Aegis.
Nighthowl and the others followed.
Still, the green flames were peculiar. They penetrated the Lunar Aegis barrier and scorched Joanna’s body.
Immediately, Joanna felt a soul-scorching burn.
“Hiss!”
Joanna hadn’t expected to be injured the moment she arrived in this world, and it was a soul burn at that.
She immediately activated her Reversal Modifier to rewind herself by two seconds.

The burn vanished instantly.
Even soul-level damage could be reversed.

“Level-50 skeletons… I wonder if Morgan set these up, or if all the undead here are like this. If so, this plane is extremely dangerous.”
“It’s soul-burning magic, but skeletons fear sunlight. I’ll handle them shortly,” Alwyn warned.
“What can I do?” Benjamin aşked.
“Find treasures, of course!” Joanna said. “If Morgan is trading with the evil gods and this world’s deities, he must have looted plenty of treasures.”
Benjamin immediately understood, his eyes lighting up.
“I get it! That way! There’s treasure over there!”
He pointed in a direction.
Joanna didn’t summon a spaceship as it would be too conspicuous. Moreover, this plane had an
Occidental feel, so instead, she summoned the Crimson Throne.
