Chapter 497 Astra Lux
“Detected: Faith power from humans resurrected through death-reversal. Integrating…”
“Without Joanna I would have died. Literally. Physically. Gone.”
“Joanna is my god.”
“Detected: Faith power from survivors of the Ennis Continent. Integrating…”
“The Goddess of Starlight has saved us.”
“Your faith power is sufficient.”
“You have mastered a foundational divine law: Prayer Resonance (Law-Tier).”

‘Prayer Resonance (Law-Tier): You can hear the voices of your believers. Within certain law parameters, you may also detect the desperate prayers of human populations in dimensions on the verge of destruction.
‘Note 1: This is one of the most critical abilities for expanding the Space Alliance’s reach into new dimensions.
Note 2: Only gods can discover new dimensions, because only gods can hear the voices calling out from hem.
Note 3: Loss of this ability constitutes loss of divine status.”
You have mastered a foundational divine law: Faith Power (Law-Tier).”
Faith Power (Law-Tier): Your accumulated faith amplifies your combat strength. The amplification scales with the volume of faith held. The more believers, the greater the multiplier.
Current believer count: 3,423,200,000,000.
Casual believers: 99.93%.
Total faith: 43 trillion.
Current amplification multiplier: 4,300x. (Every 10 billion faith Ix multiplier.)”
Everything clicked into place.
In one moment, Joanna understood all of it.
The Space Alliance’s endless expansion into new dimensions, the vertical development of world after world, it had all been driven by gods hearing prayers.
Only those who had accumulated enough faith, reputation, and presence could master these laws, and only those who mastered them earned the right to be called gods.
Anyone who couldn’t hear the people calling out, anyone without believers, would never ascend within the

And faith power’s real terror wasn’t the baseline boost. It was the scaling. The more people believed in you, the stronger you became. The more believers you lost, the weaker you got. A god whose followers were being slaughtered was a god actively losing their power in real time.
Everything Joanna had done to get here, every dimension she’d entered, every person she’d pulled back from the edge, every system she’d built that gave people something to hold onto, had fed directly into this moment. All of it had returned to her at once.
4.300x combat multiplier.
What demon could stand against that?
The aura that poured off her was something the Demon Gods in the zone had never felt before. It smelled like death to them. Their own death.
“She… she ascended. She became a god.”
“That aura. How is this possible? How does someone ascend and immediately hit this level?”
“Run. Everyone run!”
Their telepathic signals were shaking. Every one of them stared at Joanna with the particular fear of creatures who have just understood, with complete clarity, that they cannot win.
“All of you.”
The words came out quiet.
“Die.”
Sixteen Demon Gods. Sixteen soul signatures faded from the Decennial Universe.
“Breaking: Godwar Tragedy in the Decennial Universe. The Mage God Feran Clayton Has Fallen”
“Nine Mythic-Level Professionals Hold the Line Against Twenty-Three Demon Gods in the Decennial Universe. A Battle With No Way Out.”
“Joanna Arrives Solo. Three Demon Gods Slain.”
“The War God of Divine Might Has Fallen.”
“BREAKING NEWS! Joanna Slays Four More Demon Gods. Breaks Through to Level 90 Achieves Sage Tier. Ascends to Godhood on the Battlefield. Total Demon God Kill Count Sixteen Humanity Wins Wins WINS.”
“Space Alliance Universal System Alert: Congratulations. The Human Space Alliance now has its 128th deity.”
“Title Awarded: Astra Lux.”

The Decennial Universe battlefield went quiet.
The largest godwar in recorded history ended the instant Joanna ascended, her divine power flattening every remaining Demon God in the zone before they could take another breath.
What was left on the field were the abandoned lower-rank demonkind, who the human professionals on the ground proceeded to sweep through methodically.
Joanna moved fast through the debris. She combed through the fallen Demon Gods’ remains, gathering fragments, piecing together what she could. In the end she had a body, most of one. The arm was intact. The rest was partial.
She’d already protected Kevin’s soul using Soul Drain the moment he fell. She built the circle now, brought Pierre in to assist, and channeled everything into it. The flesh re-formed around the soul, piece by piece, and Kevin Vaughn came back.
He opened his eyes and let out a breath that came from somewhere very deep.
“Holy shit. I thought that was it. I genuinely thought I was done.”
Death for a Mythic-level professional carried losses that were almost impossible to recover from quickly. Felicia rushed over immediately, channeling her energy to accelerate his recovery.
Even so, Kevin had lost roughly a third of his total attributes. The Demon Gods who’d consumed his flesh had strong absorption capabilities, and what they’d taken didn’t come back. It was a significant hit.
He thanked her without even thinking.
“Thank you, Goddess of Radiance.”
Felicia waved it off, her expression complicated as her gaze moved to Joanna.
“Astra Lux is the one who saved you. Thank her. She fought the flesh back out of the Demon Gods’ hands piece by piece. That’s why your losses were this small.”
A third of total attributes. By the standards of what could have happened, that was small. Without the recovery effort, he’d have been lucky to keep a tenth.
Kevin stared at Joanna. He could feel the divine power rolling off her, immense and steady, nothing like the half-god aura she’d carried into the fight.
“Joanna!” He broke into something between a laugh and a shout. “You actually did it Congratulations!”
