Irene felt both angry and disappointed.

Luckily, they had a second child. That younger child was only two years old and still a toddler. The older son, however, had been raised for 18 years. There was no way they would abandon him.

“Forget it,” Irene said coldly. “I’ve known for a long time that you’re useless. But for someone to have the nerve to scheme against us? She must be tired of staying in Chromatic Star.”

She turned to her son and softened her tone. “Didn’t you want her to be your girlfriend? Don’t worry. I’ll bring her to you. My son deserves any girl he wants. What is she so proud for?”

Irene immediately sent out a call.

At the same time, David’s communicator rang. He answered at once and instinctively bent forward.

“Yes, Mr. Cobb. Go ahead.

“Yes, yes, yes. I understand. Just kids fooling around. I get it.”

Five minutes later, David ended the call. His face was dark and tense.

“Who was that?” Irene asked.

“Daley Cobb,” David replied. “He’s the chief secretary to the Minister of Education. He mentioned that girl and what happened with our son. She’s caught the attention of people higher up.”

Irene’s eyes widened.

“What does that mean? We can’t touch her now?”

David let out a sharp, cold laugh. “No. It’s the opposite,” he said grimly. “People like her need to be crushed early. If she really has that kind of talent, she’ll rise fast one day and come back for revenge.”

He continued mercilessly. “Send people to watch her. She’s been running dungeons nonstop. The moment she enters a public dungeon, arrange an assassination.

“She’s only level 11. The public dungeons she can choose are limited. Zombie Base. Broodmother’s Lair. Carnivorous Mushroom City. Demon Fortress. Post people at all of them. Kill her before she grows up.”

Department of Education, Maverick’s office.

Daley knocked and walked in.

“Mr. Lopez, something happened today.”

Because Maverick had been paying attention to Joanna and placed a bet on her, Daley regularly gathered information about her.

Her dungeon clear records, last evaluation results, and Spider Lady dungeon clear record appeared neatly on Maverick’s desk every day.

Daley had also arranged a silent guardian for Joanna.

The level wasn’t high. Only level 20.

The mission was simple: protect Joanna for one month.

The guardian later reported something odd. Joanna seemed to have a teleport-type ability. He never saw her leave the school, yet she still entered dungeons.

Daley, being cautious, ordered him to continue protecting her in secret.

Today, the guardian finally spotted her. She went to the dungeon plaza and got into a fight with a rich kid named Kayden.

And Joanna really had skill. She tricked him into losing 1,000 attribute points.

Kayden’s talent was poor and not worth cultivation. Still, his parents had invested resources in him. There was a chance they would target Joanna.

Because of this, Daley came to Maverick for guidance.

“Call David,” Maverick said calmly. “Give him a gentle warning.”

“Yes, Mr. Lopez,” Daley replied. “With your name involved, he shouldn’t touch Joanna. I just don’t know where she’ll end up going to school.”

“If she can get out of Chromatic Star,” Maverick said, “that would be perfect. A kid from a backwater planet made it big.”

Chromatic Star existed and had limited resources. If local resources ran out, they had to raid other parallel dimensions.

Dungeon runs were deadly.

Who wouldn’t want safe resources without risking their life?

Maverick had a strong feeling. Joanna would definitely make it out.

At this moment, Joanna was inside her villa.

She was constantly consuming special spiritual items, potions, and enhancement items.

Food-type items required a large stomach to finish in one go. Some items, even if eaten daily, took a long time to fully consume.

If she didn’t eat them now, it would be a waste later.

As her attribute points increased, these items would stop giving growth.

The energy simply wouldn’t be enough.

Luckily, there was no rule saying items couldn’t be used after level 10.

From level 1 to level 10, the materials she needed cost her a total of 31.42 million Starcoins. This data was public online. There were even merchants selling full bundles, but they charged an extra 500,000 Starcoins.

Joanna knew that collecting everything slowly would take too much time. What she lacked the most right now was time. So, she bought the full bundle at once.

After that, she had just over 1 million Starcoins left.

Her wallet was empty again.

But the results were clear.

After consuming everything she needed, her base attributes were updated.
