As a tank class, Lucas had lost 230 points from his maximum HP in just one month.

In the same month, he had lost about 22 pounds.

He was exhausted all the time. He barely ate well anymore.

Only then did it hit him. Back when Joanna was still around, they ate real, natural food and trained regularly. With that routine, they gained attribute points every week.

When Lucas counted it up, they had gained nearly 200 attribute points back then.

But in this last month?

He hadn’t gained a single point. Because of fatigue, his vitality had even dropped by 2 points.

The difference was painfully obvious.

Thinking back, the idea of suppressing Joanna felt ridiculous now. They had cut the string themselves and let the kite fly away.

Lucas pictured Joanna’s face-her calm expression, her old gentleness. The tight anger in his chest finally loosened.

After the SATs, I’ll apologize to her.

It wouldn’t hurt her at all. In fact, after leaving the team, Joanna had risen fast and high. That was a good thing. If anything, she should thank him for letting her go.

He had grown thinner.

If she found out, maybe she’d feel sorry for him-at least a little-after three years together.

Still, with the whole class present, he couldn’t bring himself to lower his pride.

He kept a stiff face and sat on the far side of the room, as if silently facing off against Joanna.

“Next, your breakfast vouchers have been sent to your accounts,” Noelle announced. “Tomorrow morning, you can enjoy one free natural meal. The school has also prepared crystal cakes. Each one boosts a matching attribute for a short time. This is the school’s final supply for you.

“Do your best, everyone!”

With that, Noelle dismissed the class for free activity.

As they passed another classroom, Kayden stood out right away in his full set of silver-tier gear.

It had been over twenty days since they last met.

Kayden wore that annoying smile again. The moment he saw Joanna, his eyes lit up.

“Joanna!”

“Hm? What do you want?” she asked flatly.

Kayden smiled wide. Compared to before, there was less arrogance and more fake warmth. But his acting was bad. The calculation in his eyes was obvious.

“Joanna, I was wrong before. I didn’t think about your feelings,” he said quickly. “The SATs are coming up. Why don’t we make peace? After the exams, I’ll chase you again-seriously this time. I won’t look at any other girls. I’ll prove my sincerity and my heart.”

Joanna laughed coldly. “Your sincerity is having your parents send assassins to kill my contracted companions?”

Her jawline was visible, but the mockery on her face was unmistakable.

She had no reason to play nice with Kayden.

Over the past 20 days, Kayden’s parents had secretly sent people to track her. When the first group vanished, they realized something was wrong but still sent more.

They soon discovered that Joanna had been farming dungeons inside Fruit vs. Zombies, while her two humanoid summons were grinding monsters in public dungeons.

David and Irene were furious but helpless. They didn’t dare assassinate Joanna openly in a dungeon plaza filled with professionals.

So they changed targets. They decided to eliminate her humanoid contracted companions instead.

Wave after wave came. Eight groups in total. All dead.

The losses didn’t even matter anymore. What mattered was that Joanna earned 60 million credits from it. With college coming up, she saved every bit of it and didn’t spend recklessly.

All she could say was this. Geez, thanks for the generous delivery.

Kayden’s smile froze. So, Joanna has known all along.
