The Betas Rejected Daughter
Chapter 175
Fiona POV
(
“Oh, by the way,” Maeron began, leaning back casually in the chair in front of me, “I reached out to that intelligence network in Cetherland–the one we used to assist. The elders there were… very interested when they heard you are back in.”
I didn’t answer immediately, but my mind wandered.
That “organisation” wasn’t just a group. It was a hidden wolf intelligence faction outside the pack that handled classified top–level drug manufacturing with some kind of method ordina wolves weren’t even allowed to know existed.
“They want to meet you privately,” Maeron continued. “They are one of the most powerful medicine organisations right now, and they know about your blood. That is why they accepte
“I’m not surprised,” I said calmly. “But we’ll see.”
Groups like that weren’t something you walked into blindly. Even if they were on your side, even if they respected you, power always came with a price, and I had paid enough prices already.
Maeron tilted his head slightly, studying me. “There’s something else.”
I looked at him.
“They recently brought in someone new,” he said. “A genius. Early thirties. Doesn’t talk much. Doesn’t care about status, rank, or pack politics.”
He smirked faintly. “But that’s not the interesting part.”
I already felt something tightening in my chest.
“His name is Dane Kerrigan.”
My heart slammed. For a moment, I couldn’t breathe
“…Where is he from?” I asked quietly.
Maeron shook his head. “No idea. My contact isn’t cleared to know that level of information. All they know is that he appeared out of nowhere and took control of the core operations. Projects that were dead for years are moving again. Barriers no one could break were solved overnight.”
He leaned forward slightly. “Whoever this guy is… he’s not normal.”

Of course he wasn’t.
Kerrigan.
That name alone was enough.
I clenched my fingers slightly. “Maeron, get me to meet them.”
He raised a brow. “Are you that eager?”
“I’m not asking twice.”
He studied me for a moment, then smiled. “I already did.”
“Wait for their summons,” he added. “They’ll call you to their pack soon.”
I let out a slow breath. “Thank you.”
Maeron clicked his tongue immediately. “Don’t start that again. We’re past thank–yous, Fiona We’re family at this point.”
Family.
For once,
the word didn’t remind me of the Jensons and sting like he used to.
I stood by the window, gripping my phone.
Kerrigan.
I had heard that name only once, and it was from Lydia.
I will never forget it because of her countenance when she mentioned his name. It was like she was praying to a god.
I closed my eyes briefly, curiosity taking the better part of me.
Something about this person was really piquing my interest
If this Dane Kerrigan, who a powerful organisation took in, was somehow connected to I ydia, I don’t care how small the chance was. I would hnd out who he was.
The next day, I had no classes, so I let myself sleep in for once. When I woke up. I made something simple to eat and was halfway through when my communicator flashed and Maeron’s voice came in.
“Queen, everyone is ready.”
