Cynthia’s POV 

With all that had happened today – Ethan ambushing me at the university, the humiliating phone call incident with Bryan, that exposed woman with her vulgar comments and inappropriate touching, Ethan crashing my business meeting and turning it into some territorial pissing contest–all I wanted to do was go home and sleep. 

Just disappear into my bed, pull the covers over my head, and pretend this entire exhausting, emotionally draining day had never happened. 

I was so tired. Emotionally, physically, mentally exhausted. 

Wher. I finally pulled through the gates and up the long driveway to the mansion, I noticed immediately that there were extra vehicles parked in front. A silver SUV I didn’t recognize and a sedan that looked like it had been recently washed and polished.

I parked and grabbed my bag, steeling myself for whatever awaited inside. The security detail pulled up behind me and gave me a brief nod before positioning themselves at their usual discreet distance.
